I want to edit some footage to go with some mixes I've done and may do in the future. What I anticipate doing is ripping loads of clips from youtube or dvds I've got or whatever and crudely splicing them together so that at each point there is an image that I think fits the music. So I need to do some cuts and maybe make the odd bit repeat or possibly even change speed so it's in time but I don't need a lot more functionality than that. What I do need is something that I can download for free on a pc (not a Mac) and which is easy for an idiot to use. So any tips please!
Thanks, once again, in advance.

Well, we are all getting older. Apart from age related physical limitations, such as those exposed at my trial for the staff 4x100m relay team, for last years sports day, I rarely feel older. It's usually little, unexpected things which mark the passing of time; a recent change to the shape of London Pride bottle being one. Years ago, I would have barely noticed an alteration to the beer vessel. It costs the same and it tastes the same. Now, however, such seemingly insignificant changes unsettle me. Is it just me, or do others feel the changes to products/packaging/brands etc, represent closed chapters in their lives...

Hi all - advice sought

Does anyone know about having books made?

I want to do a book of covers, probably to publish independently, and I need some recommendations for good book makers who will do a quality job with reproductions, etc. The kind of quality on the Music Library book is what I'm looking for, so if anyone has a copy of that to hand that they could quickly look in for manufacturing details, that would be grand. Or any general advice. I am complete novice in this, as in many other things.

thanks

Like many of you lot, I'm sure, they often work with music on: Spotify, Mixcloud, CDs I've burned for them, and so on.
Two days ago, they got a call from the PPL saying that henceforth if they wanted to continue listening to music in their office space, they'd need to pay £300 a year!
Radio only is apparently £60 a year.
They're obviously very reluctant to cough up for this and a re a bit bemused by how it all works.

Is this all kosher?
Does anyone else have experience of this?
Any thoughts or informed opinions?
