I have ended up enrolled on an 8 week course about mindfulness at work, initially getting the wrong end of the stick in not knowing it was so zen and all that clobber. It's good!! Every Tuesday morning I attend a class and lay down on a mat or sit there thinking in a mindful way about things, the first excercise involved looking at a raisen for 20 minutes as if I never seen one before.
It's pitched to look at work life balance in essense.
I have homework and have to listen to a CD of some woman talking for 45 minutes each night, but I am going to change it to some LP's I need to listen to.
Anyone got any tips or recommendations?
I have that Tony Scott LP somewhere, but I was thinking some field recordings or drone stuff might work (i.e. stuff like Om).
Would weed help reach that higher plane? I have a fragile constitution to it.
wurd

I sent a box set to a bloke in France in early April (you may remember my rant :O ) and it got delivered to him on 12th June! In the interim we’d agreed it was ‘lost’ and I refunded him etc. Now he’s asked me to send him a new invoice for the records – damned decent of him and restored my faith in Discogs punters! Next time though I’m nipping over to deliver on my bike I reckon.

Does anyone here remember Story Teller?

The Magical World of Story Teller

This popular fortnightly magazine for children first appeared 30 years ago, and was unique in that it included an audio cassette with each issue featuring actors and actresses of the day, providing the voices for each story.

Story Teller, and it's sequel Story Teller 2 (in 1984), relied very heavily on library music. They used a lot of KPM material, but I believe also played tracks from Sonoton/Conroy and Themes International. Working closely with the Story Teller website and their Facebook group, I am trying to piece together details of all the music that featured in each issue. A mammoth task - as there could be as many as three or more library tracks played in an individual story. To catalogue all the pieces used, I've created a database:

Story Teller Music Database

For the stories with unidentified tracks there's a link so that you can hear them on YouTube. I imagine there are a lot of people here who are obviously very knowledgeable when it comes to library music. To those 'musical sherlocks'.. would you be able to ID these tracks and piece together the missing details? Any help would be very-much appreciated, and everyone who can provide that vital info will be credited on the Database page.

Thanks in advance,
markmcm.

BTW, there's no need to ID the Story Teller theme music - we have that one covered! 'Children's Carnival' by Atking & Feanch. :-)
