I'm getting in for early doors - 9pm at the Camden Centre - no time for fancy boozing when there's a record stall inside.

crazy? it's just a old man type place. 'The Dolphin' on the corner of Tonbridge St and Bidborough St (where the front entrance to the venue is - although they might use the Euston Rd entrance instead)

    Yeah totally...

This is the funk event of the year and there's no way I'm spending any time away from it in some shite Kings Cross fleapit, nor adding to any developement of drunkeness away from the Camden Centre itself - 9 -2am is fair long time, plus any shananigans after... Gonna pace myself, can't get wasted too quickly, you forget what you hear that way!

I'm there. And like Ice Cube said, I'm down for whatever.
Let him have the lot for £2.00 - we were only going to throw 'em out anyway...

    yo! Yo! Yo!

Southend represents with at least two carloads hitting Kings X for a 9pm arrival. No messing about elsewhere - I subscribe to your scripture G-man!

What's the latest word on ticket sales BTW?

Fryer said 400 on Monday, since it made all the mags with previews etc, and it's Cut Chemist, add another 300? You'll have to ask a nervous Fryer on the night.... 700 in a 900 capacity venue would be just right for me personally...

Um, all depends on how long it takes me to make it into town from darkest Essex. Hopefully I'll be ready for action around 8.30pm, so we can go for a bevvy or even clash elbows with the others. You got my number?

And Mike, what're you up to?

maybe that could be a new definition of rareness... "I won't play anything that Shazzam will recognise!"

seriously though, people on UK Dance reckon it works for some really obscure stuff, as long as it's been on a cd at some point - so it has picked up brand new white labels that had just appeared on a mix CD, so i guess it would pick up all the Texas Funk ones for starters... i have a link somewhere to an interesting article on how it (probably) works i can dig out if anyone is geeky enough to want to know

Talk to me later if you really want to know about Shazam!

They ripped all their information from the EPD database that I help manage during the day.

I shared an office with Ray from Big Brother who used to be a supervisor for Shazam here at Greenford. Bully for me!!

You're right about Texas Funk and things being picked up. I was in a bar and heard this really familiar tune. So instead of asking the dj (and losing my lovely reclined position)...I shazamed it. Much to my amazement it kicked back 'Hip Drop' by the Explosions.

Which I later found out is on that New Orleans Funk comp and I should have known better because the song has 'Hip drop' being song every other second..but in my defence I was a) pished b) er it was quiet and c) er..no excuse.

oh ps. Vibra is in town! COME ON!!!

i think everything's been said on the Deepfunk message board...

basically, it would have been an excellent night except for the appalling sound in the main room.
Saturday made up for it though!
