    Default Charlotte Gainsbourg 5.55 LP

Sorry if this LP has previously been discussed or recommended but I just got the LP at the weekend and wanted to sing it's praises. I wasn't sure if I would like the whole LP but there's not one bad track. The material is by Air, Jarvis Cocker & Neil Hannon. The vinyl comes in a beautiful high quality sleeve as well so get it while you can

Lady J...you need this LP, although I'm sure you already own it

Wish I could post soundclips. I'm just listening again now and I love this LP!

If you like the sound on Moon Safari or specifically Playground Love off the Virgin Suicide OST then you'll not be disappointed. It's double vinyl and gatefold sleeve so well worth seeking out.

I'm tempted to order another copy as I sense collectability in the future

I interviewed Air a little while back and they were enthuiastically endorsing this album (for obvious reasons!) but there are a couple of songs on their latest album, Pocket Symphony, which were surplus to requirements for the CG project. The Neil Hannon song, Somewhere Between Waking And Sleeping, is superb in particular and the Jarivs one's very nice, too. In fact the new Air album is highly recommended if you like David Sylvian, Erik Satie and Michael Nyman.

For those who are having difficulties tracking this down (eBay.co.uk raised a blank when I looked) there are some copies for sale at www.phonicarecords.co.uk with a delivery service

Don't they get jealous of one another? I bet there are some rows in your imaginary household.

Rather pretty songs, especially that 5.55 one, I do concur. She's smuggling peanuts in the video

Yeah, I picked this up after seeing this thread.

    Big thankyou!

    Really liking it.

    French actresses eh?

If you like those with famous Dads, have a peep at Emma Des Caunes (daughter of the extremely cool polymath Antoine).

If anyone has the 'Ma Mere' DVD (and you should because Isabell Huppert is possibly the sexiest woman on the planet! And she's over 50!), check out Emma on the extras. Incredibly pretty young lass.

And I think she is also in 'The Science of Sleep', which I will be seeing when it comes to Broadway Cinema in a couple of weeks. Shame I'm not bi cos Gael Garcia Bernal is very pretty too!

Back to the CD though, very cool. Return to form from Air eh? Their new material should be worth checking.
If you will suck my soul, I will lick your funky emotions.

Got the cd from amazon a couple of days ago and although it definitely has a msr Gainsbourg sound to it, it is a very good record. I don't have to "think" too much about it, very pleased with this purchase.

I also got the new Liars album which has been very good so far.

that's a great song, gainsbourg with the emotionless carefree voice with the girl crying in the background. the album is from 1973 and all of the songs on there are great

Emma De Caunes is playing the Charlotte Gainsbourg's friend, the one Gael Garcia Bernal want to date at first..

Air, Nigel Godrich, Gainsbourg, Neil Hannon and Jarvis all in one place have made this my favourite album of the last few months. Mind you, Jarvis' own solo release is very strong, too. And looking forward to grabbing Air's Pocket Symphony soon.
