i think hes tryin' it on mate. i know nige got charged $20 recently he payed up. when it arrived and it had $10 printed on it for postage he got in touch with the dealer and he refunded him $10. ive seen a few tryin' to quote $18 but $30 seems a bit extreme.

i had this problem once as well. when i asked him why it was so high (when i was used to paying $10 - $15) the guy said that he usually moved large shipments of vinyl and that he'd check. he came back to me 2 days later with a mea culpa and a charge of $14.

ask him why it's so high. could be trying it on. might be a genuwine mistake.

it could be a case of pulling a postage amount out of thin air cos he's never posted outside the US before & dosent know how much it costs till he mails it, mail him & say it usually costs less......... or he could be taking the peess.

er..... that 45s in the post this week simon

    Wotcha Sie -
I had some fucker try to charge $30 too, saying it was standard. When I complained he said he could do it for fifteen in the end - and then sent it seamail for five bucks! Took three months to get here!!

I find $10-$14 is the usual, and $15 the max meself.

The usual story - postage ends up costing more than the LP.
Or is that just me being a tight-arse and snapping up eight-buck elpees!??
    To infinity - and beyond!

$30 sounds about right if he's quoting you Global Priority - one of the only services the post office uses that allows you a certain amount of tracking......other than using USPS, FedEx or suchlike.

If it's just standard mail then for me it's usually around the $10.40 mark then add on the packaging costs of around $1.50 or so.....about $12.00
