    Default internet radio

anyone here involved in any internet radio stations?
if so, which ones and how are you involved?
any internet only stations you particularly enjoy on a regular basis?
which ones stand out from the vast crowd for you and why?!
    questions, questions, questions...

Not strictly an Internet radio station, more of a weekly / fortnightly podcast, but you can't go far wrong with my mate Andy Morten's Toffee Sunday Smash. Check it out . . .

I do one at Goldsmiths student radio on www.wired.gold.ac.uk. Usually play loads of reggae, especially dub, Hip Hop, jazz, we did a oriental jazz-funk mix the other day: Bollywood, Turkish etc. Tonight I think we'll be pulling out some of the psych/kraut/garage gems. The show goes on for this thursday and the next, really bloody enjoy but as with Flytipper I really should brush up on my presentation.

Si . . . this looks rather marvellous, though I fear you am actually I and that any attempt of mine to spin discs for ya would be ultimately futile as we actually own doppelganger record collections.

Which, of course, really means I'm angling for an invite!!

    Nice one!
More than enough there to keep me from getting any work done today...
Am in the process of getting something off the ground (and onto the web) so if anyone has any advice to offer or wants to share their experiences/nightmares of the logisitical runnings then please do...
    Cheers!

A lot of the US based internet radio stations may not be around much longer thanks to the @#*&!! that are the RIAA.

    Thumbs up

WFMU's been mentioned, but I'd like to put in a word for Tony Coulter's show -consistently fascinating, and I always end up adding a thing or two to my wantlist.

cheers all, i think a collective pat on the back may be in order here, lots of stuff to look/listen through here...some of you should be more vocal about what you're doing...chuck it up in the events section so people know when to tune in!

I do find "radio" is the best way to listen to music especially if the presenter can add something about the records & relate it to life (her/his perspective).

It's a shame there are very few good shows on FM.

    How I miss John Peel.

Dandelion Radio is a "tribute" to the great man, with mainly new bands.

A radio highlight this week has been Andy Kershaw on Desert Island Discs.

At first I bought records, then I started to collect records; now I merely accumulate records.

This bright and sunny morning in Birmingham has been soundtracked to a Brother Logic/Lady J pod cast (the one where "the CD player didn't want to play ball").

    Lovin' it

At first I bought records, then I started to collect records; now I merely accumulate records.

A radio highlight this week has been Andy Kershaw on Desert Island Discs.

I ripped (128kbps wma) the Kershaw DID overflow show: 1 3/4 hrs of records he couldn't fit on DID. Only, data equivalent of needledropped it, so far but got to be a fav broadcast of all time.

I'll stick it on my pen-drive thingy for you later.

PS Does the sun shine into your north facing listening room/office/broken-toe-prison ?

Sort of, if you get up really early. But the sky is blue and bright. The kitchen is very sunny right now.
