    Default Weekend finds 3rd June

Decided this morning at 7 am that the booters that i'm going to are a bit of a waste of time (i'm finding better stuff in charity shops to be honest ) Far too many of the same record fiends there consistantly and i absolutely refuse to get there at 5 am and sharpen my elbows for the scrum

Nothing to get excited about unfortunately

couple of nice 45's but these were left over "eee, i've sold loads of those this morning !" ............fuck.

These were from last weekend on my way up to Byker Groove, the Air (UK copy!) & Clancy Eccles were both £3 each from a record fair other two from the chazza's

I must learn to be content with recent finds and not just the current weekends hang on a minute though, i am pleased with those 45's

show us what you got then !

Well done so far folk, you've done considerably better than yours truly who tossed off the best part of £40 trying to grab a sunday dinner (and failing miserably!), opting for a heavily wholesome liquid lunch instead!...

Towny mate, did you manage to grab that 'Beginning Of The End' album on your way back down for me dude??? ...

I feel your pain. I dislocated my right shoulder last weekend and have since had my arm clad in a ridiculously big contraption that I suppose is a brace but given it's size I'm loathe to call it that. Herein lies the problem - I have to wear it under my clothes yet I don't own anything big enough to wear over it, so unless I start wearing ponchos I'm housebound. I don't think the world is ready for my naked torso just yet! I have to wear it for three weeks, and are only supposed to take it off briefly to shower, so until I get the all clear I'm a virtual recluse - no work, no pub, no footie and, most frustratingly, no digging. Gutted.

Went to Ludlow,Craven Arms and Hereford on the way back from a stay in the country, checked the chazzlers and found nothing.tons of them though in Hereford and Ludlow.

Bristol fared better even if there seems more than ever dealers creaming any decent stuff from the charities.

Bought quite a bit of stuff including 16 hardcore/jungle promos that look interesting and 2 of the Keb Darge Funk comps for 80p each. Not many keepers though apart from these...

Johnny Dankworth - What the Dickens! LP (with Tubby Hayes)
Fania All Stars - Salsa Live LP
Various - Soul of Jamaica LP on Island
Focus - that midprice compilation on Polydor
Watersons - A Yorkshire Garland LP on Topic
Can - Future Days LP (after lamenting that I never see Can stuff at boots, there it was - nice and minty UK original)

Still no interesting sevens around though..

braved a stinking hangover to do the booter at 8, which is very early for me, and managed an entire ONE record- Long John Baldry album on pye...really clean copy of the only the heartaches lp...I know darned well the single is horseshit, but I was hoping for a few decent album tracks given his r and b past maybe it'll grow on me

there was a matched pair of linear conchord valve amps, but the guy wanted £75...too much for something you can't test beforehand. Made me realise how spoiled I've been by ebay and the idea you get some comeback on secondhand goods

"Not only that but the WHOLE COVER is UNCREASED with only 2 or 3 TINY creaselines near the opening edge about half way down!!!! In the same place (about half way down the opening edge), there is an absolutely TINY and PERFECTLY repaired split" (xxxrecords)

Headed to booter, pretty shit really.

Ike & Tina T - Live at Carnegie Hall - no' bad

Black Abbots - Live! - Sick ill raer british private press funk breaks from the man like RUSS yo. 2nd copy in a week!!

A capitalistic C & A private press single which espouses the notion that "all your fashiondreams (sic) will come true at C & A!". It's crap. And mendacious propaganda at that.

A slightly fucked Esprit de Corps single on JAM - the B side - "Picture on the wall" - I think - is a cool, summery groove. . . find of the day.

And a crap Turkish single which is err diabolical!!

Thassit. Stuck at work most of yesterday and today - still - off to Belgium in a couple of weeks to stock up on El Chicles LPs. . .

Is that the one with 'Live and Let Die' and the Four Seasons medley with the unexpected break in it? Surprisingly good as these things go - I knew Russ was a drummer but I didn't realise quite how good he was!

If you want to add the C&A 45 to the pile, I'd have no complaints whatsoever!

A poor week-end for me too, only picking up one worthwhile record, all the others were in terrible condition. This though was in excellent condition and I'd never heard it before. Has the original insert too so that's a bonus. vladislav
