I'm after these some of which I think you'd like:
    Famks - "Labirinto"
Robson Jorge - "Tudo Bem" (I think this is a bit of a Brazilian funk-jazz classic)
Tarântulas - "Saiba Ser Feliz" (Preposterously great version of Don't Stop Till You Get Enough with sub-standard vocals)
Don Beto - "Não Quero Mais"
Painel de Controle - "Cada um na sua

The list is huge but I would include the following which are cheap (£10-£15)

    MARKU RIBAS "CAVALO DAS ALEGRIAS"
    TAIGUARA "IMYRA TAYRA IPY"
    SAMBAS ORQUESTRA E CORO "SAME"
    EMILIO SANTIAGO "SAME"
    GAL COSTA "CARAS & BOCAS"
BEDEU "AFRICA NO FUNDO DO QUINTAL"

I would not recommend the Cry Babies - sorry Semad but I think it's well overrated.

I wouldnt recommend cry babies for £200 (as listed on a site) but if you spy ebay you can get it pretty cheap - say < £75.

No mention of the Boogaloo Combo?

And surely all the early Os Mutantes LPs are essential? If your mate finds any, I'll have 'em...
There MUST be a Hymns-A-Swingin' in this box...

    Dont forget...

there's various Antonio Carlos & Jocafi LPs

better ones are in the 1971-74 period on RCA - with some nice funky undertones to many tracks.

    Reality - s/t on Polydor
    Toni Tornado - BR3 - ODEON
    Toni Tornado - s/t - ODEON
Manito - O Incrivel Manito - RCA (drum breaks, funk[Kool & Th Gang, The Gang's Back Again, Sock It To Em JB])
Som Tres - every single Som Tres album is great!
Antonio Adolfo E A Brazuca - both ODEON LPs

    Meirelles E Os Copa 5 - O Som
    Meirelles E Os Copa 5 - O Novo Som
    Meirelles E Os Copa 7 - Tropical

all amazing top notch jazz.......can't be beat.

dom salvador e abolicao - som, sangue e raca

ok this one is probalby dom's funkiest output. Although his early straight ahead jazz lps are dope too (ie. Dom Salvador Trio).

    Ed Lincoln - s/t

    with "Cochise", the dancefloor monster

oh and I agree w/ the Emilio Santiago, truly one of the best bargains in Brazilian music. If that album wasn't as easy to find as it is, it would be well worth a $100 price tag. Instead you can find it for $15. And about Tim Maia, the ones to look for are "Racional vol 1 & 2".
