Default weekday finds (or better, last weekend finds)

well, went through the attic of my girlfriends dad last sunday and found some interesting stuff there (and a lot of dust)

many religious records there. winner of those would be the siegfried fietz christian lp that was recorded in london with harry stoneham on organ.
also some decent german christian prog/kraut like stuff.
the 45s are most crap but look cool
also left a lot of lp's i allready have. csny, bob dylan, swiss folk lp's, cti stuff etc... all in all a pretty decent collection.

and lord t, i've found another sleeve with a philicorda organ on it

Ouff - cool in-laws you have, Sevi...
All there is to reap at my father in law's are box sets of Wagner operas

ha, nothing to find at my fathers house either cause he threw away most of his lp's in the 80s (amongst them some krokodil, dave pike and rare swiss folk lp's )

Blimey. Those are the sorts of in-laws you can live with. Some tasty stuff there.

Are those Nick Drakes UK OGs? If so
...if in doubt consult your dealer.

That Maranatha LP on MPB is supposed to be good, never heard it myself. Flute?

well, its far from amazing but has some allright tunes on it.
guitar and organ. one proggy jam and one funky jam with clavinet and yes, flute.
guess this is one of those records you put on ebay with ultra rare private xian prog psych killer lp and get a lot of money for it...
maybe one track fits on my x-mas cd...

I got excited a couple of years ago when my wife (then fiance) told me her dad had said he had some records in the loft, as both my in-laws were ex-morris dancers and went to a lot of folk gigs in their youth. I was hoping for a collection of OG Vashti Bunyan and the like.

Sadly not, though. Rarest LP was a nice folk LP by Sinnermen and Sara, but the rest was stuff like Sky, John Williams, Richard Clayderman, etc. Of course, I had already stupidly offered to digitise them and put them onto CD for them so they can listen to them whilst travelling the length and breadth of the UK on their new narrowboat. Only managed to do 4 LPs so.... couldn't take much more of their shite music for another month or so.

    SKY . . . .discuss!

What with all the love for Herbie Flowers round here, I must confess my first thought on hearing the bloke's name is always Sky.

Any takers (apart from you, of course, Pitch, you deviant!)

Not for me Hugh - although the members SHOULD do good stuff, they just don't seem to.

Their first LP's quite good in an early-80s-KPM kind of way, but given the talents involved they should be better.

its "hostettler, diem, mentha" a swiss accoustic folk record (acc guitar, mandolin, violin).
pretty average swiss folk, but one beautiful tune "lied a üsi zyt".

Good going, my wife's Dad seems to have a couple of Appenzeller folk music albums and that's it.
