Eugen Cicero Swinging Classics - Wicked Hungarian Rhapsody but just noticed I only have one of the two LPs

Ah, so that's where I knew that Roger Webb tune from - that's been bothering me for ages!

Does the Eugen Cicero have 'Grande Valse Brilliante' by Chopin on it, by any chance? Still looking for that for no reason other than I rather like it.

Wasn't even looking - spending the day helping a friend move house; driving a hired van around Dublin on a weirdly sunny and warm day. One of the stops was an Oxfam home shop to pick up a couch where, at the front of about 10 LPs in total was this

Minty UK copy - for €5 - And I was happy.

Then i scratched the van attempting an ambitious reverse down a tight lane
Those funny cars won't make the teardrops start/ but way up there is where she broke my heart

A few in the post, one from a charity (boxtops) and the rest from a record fair today - one bloke had some superb stuff and cut me a great deal - another bloke had some really interesting stuff and treated me with disdain and rudeness - horses for courses eh?

Chess Moog weirdness, UK JBs press and Aussie funk!

Dunno about the top two yet but very please with the Piotr and Rock in the Air library!!

Drag exploito, Eddy Grant psych, cheap swirly and more psych for cheap

Loving the choc...sorry Brown Rain LP - psych steelie, Midas Touch is a bit poo but the other 2 are great

Bonkers funky electronicy Chappell and another Kynard. Also please to get Kalooky at last and the version of 'the Boat That I row' on that Sylvie ep is superb

But as usual Fuz cops the find of the day - bastard!

well being so busy recently I've been lurking in these threads with envy. Anyhow the missues was off for the weekend so I managed to hit a long overdue couple of spots. Paid dividends alright. Pics from the web (even from off vv) as shes got the camera also.

after passing up loads of this one I thought it about time. not great but another one to tick off the list.

    canned heat :
    not dropped the needle yet.

jazz at the new theatre :
a nice laid back 70s brit jazz masterpeice. real nice

    dooley silverspoon :
70s disco. nice in places. shame it missed the disco swap. next years disco swap perhaps.

    george benson :
    early georle guitar classic

    coleman hawkins :
yet to listen to but looks promising

    shafts big score :

    digits mcphee :
dont quite know why I bought this. I think i remeber seeing it somewhere like in jazzmans old shop once. Needle dropped and its not for me.

jorge dalto and the intra american band :
    nice funky fusion

    bud n bossa :
loving this. realy nice laid back sound

    enchantment :
disco and soul lp. Some nice tunes

    andy williams :
no idea not listened to yet

    liza :
does what it says it does on the tin

    button down :
really pleased with this 50p monster I'm sure you all know. goods to finally have a copy

    bobbie :
again so lad to have this now. Picked up my first bobbie lp a few months ago and its been on near constant.

    david jackson :
apparently one in a line of lps called "the long hello". This one is volume 3. very interesting. Sounds like he is playing multiple instruments simultaenously a - la - roland-kirk. Not sure about this though. Got some real interesting grooves on here.

and a few from last weekend.
cant find a pic for it got it for a quid: the new billy taylor trio - the more I see you. This is real nice sunder afternoon laid back tenor saxophone. Great stuff

cannoball adderley - what I mean (reish).
    nice alto blow out.

    maria muldaur :
shit if this aint good. Starts of with some laid back sassy jazz singer stuff and moves into country singer teritory. Real nice.

    janis ian :
sounded great when I listened to it last week but cant for the life of me remember much about it.
Remember...the Force will be with you, always!

She did the best ever version of "It'll never be over for me".
Even better than Baby Washington's to these ears.

Nice album ! Was chasing it for a couple of months after hearing the New Orleansish slinky-funk-with-breakbeat monster that is 'You Am What You Am'. An early in the evening floor filling shuffler !

    Default flexible friends

Had a bit of a score today ... work took me to a part of Tokyo I'm not often in and so I decided to stop by one of my old digging haunts. Unfortunately the owner is in hospital at the moment and it looks like the shop will be closed for some time.

On the way back down the hill though, I spotted a new place just opened which seems to be full of the stock from three or four shops that have gone bust.

    Here's their bag!

There were plenty of LPs and several thousand 45s in boxes plus loads more yet to be unpacked. Only had time for a quick gander but netted these flexis:

    Just in time for xmas

    Odd synth demo flexi

Various animal noises, bird sounds, English conversation, bass guitar lessons and the one in white is "The Esso theme"

Anyone a fan of piano music by Ferrante & Teicher? If you are, I spotted five or six of their LPs together in a chazza yesterday. From the sleeves they looked in good nick. Get yourself down to the Cancer Research in Thetford, Norfolk and look in the right hand stack!

    Just the one market yesterday....

Ottilie Patterson - 3000 Years With Ottilie (Marmalade)
5 or so great tracks on this with a folkfunk flavour. Shame the cover has a bit of wear as the vinyl is visually mint but unfortunately it has a slight warp, thankfully not affecting play in the slightest.

John & Beverley Martyn - Stormbringer (Island)
VV fave and this one is a pink Island copy to replace my 2nd press copy.

Sandy Nelson - Rebirth Of The Beat (Liberty)
A lot of fuzz covers on this like Sunshine Of Your Love and Magic Carpet Ride. Also features an original tune used on AEIOU2.

I was pretty chuffed with the boot sale copy - especially as I'd been after it for a while. Not mint, but cheap - and signed by Ottilie and Chris Barber as well.
