I paid full price for that when it first came out, and I haven't seen one for sale since, but if I do you get first refusal.

All about the dirty "Get outta my life woman" cover pour moi!

Hey Eric, if you sold all your doubles/triples/quadruples, I reckon you could just about afford a copy of that "Clutch" LP!

Think I may have the odd double, but personally one of everythang is usually enough. .or I'll trade in my UK originals when I get the Japanese ones. .. .

    Hey Eric - nice records!

Do you happen to know (or anybody for that matter) if 'Night bird flying' is available on a 45 anywhere?

    Tis my favourite Hendrix tune

where yours says "strange things," mine says "flashing." do they have the same material?

do you have the billy lamont "sweet thang" 45 on 20th century fox or the little richard "whole lotta shakin' goin' on" 45 on vee-jay? both feature ripping guitar by jimi.

    Love Love
    Simon Says
    Gloomy Monday

I'm racking my brains trying to remember the name of a Jimi Lp my dad has - it's live recordings of him and a percussionist/drummer playing in some club when he was in his teens.

    Anyone?

mine has a few more tracks than that and i think yours includes a couple that aren't on "flashing," but it's mostly the same thing. yours is missing "happy birthday" (killer funk with a beastie boys break) and "hornets nest" (ripping fuzz drenched go-go instro with stabbing organ galore- also was a 45 at one point).

Rare early footage of Jimi playing with two soul cats, however they left out the part where he jumps toward the front and starts wailing out a guitar solo so outrageous for its time that they fire him.

I think some of those budget LPs have the same tracks under different names...

I was thinking of the one titled 'The Eternal Fire Of Jimi Hendrix' in E-A's pictures above. Which is this...

'Flashing', on this one, is that same track that the Beasties used for 'Jimmy James' (and Shadow also used the break off 'Daytripper' ) so I'm guessing that the tunes 'Happy Birthday' and 'Flashing' are one and the same?

Happy Birthday and Flashing are on the other London LP Get That Feeling (its shown in Eric's pictures).

    Tracklisting for that LP is:

    Side One
    Ballad Of Jimi
    No Business
    Future Trip
    Gotta Have A New Dress
    Hornets Nest
    Don't Accuse Me

    Side Two
    Flashing
    Hush Now
    Knock Yourself Out
    Happy Birthday

A lot of the tracks sound very similar. Happy Birthday sounds like Love Love, which sounds like Level, which sounds like Hush Now.

    Easy to get very

Two different tracks Rich, although similar in sound....see my post above. Happy Birthday is definitely the Beastie break.

The Eternal Fire LP incidentally has a much superior mix of Hush Now. The version on the London LP has terribly low vocals so hats off to the budget Hallmark pressing.

Speaking of unusual collaborations does anyone know if the footage of CSN&Y doing Long Time Gone featuring Tom Jones on vocals (from The Tom Jones Show) is on youtube?

yep but different pressings have different names and different takes.
also some of the early curtis night stuff sounds totally different on different labels. on the hornets nest lp the track hornets nest has really loud drums on it. i think theres about 60 tracks from the curtis night sessions and they are on over 100 lps! best just to buy the ppx 6cd box set as it has everything and you could get it for about a tenner.
i just like having all the different covers .

so if anyone has any unwanted hendrix stuff i know someone that would be greatfull of it
