I've been listening to 'smooth sailing and how' by Paul Linklater. He added me on myspace, and I really liked what I heard, so i bought his album, which has happened one other time in three years of having an account.

It's a triple cdr set- supposedly a double album and an ep, but each 'album' is almost seventy minutes long, and the 'ep' has ten tracks on it, so I think you can get an idea of what an epic it is!

Great stuff- some bits are pretty lo-fi and sound like he's not trying too hard,other bits are crystal clear, and pretty ambitious. The thing that threads it all together are the gorgeous melodies and breathy harmonies. Normally with something of this lenght (47 tracks!) you get the impression there is a great single album struggling to get heard. Not so with this. There are FOUR great albums struggling to get heard

I got the Jodorowsky DVD boxset for my birthday, so I've been listening to the CDs that came with it - soundtracks to 'El Topo' & 'The Holy Mountain'. I was listening to John Coltrane's 'Om' as well, until my little boy asked me to turn it off because it was 'making his skull ache'.

My moody postman delivered the bubblegum scented vinyl version of the Black Moth Super Rainbow LP today.

I haven't played it yet, but we've all had a good sniff.
