Possibly last quiet Sunday for a while - home made boot fair of sorts -- dug out a batch of stuff I've not heard for a wee while... in sequence...
John Cameron - Kes OST (Trunk Records) - Lush strings and meadow fed melodies - perfect start for a Sunday morning
Coil - Loves Secret Domain (Threshold House) - Possibly their finest hour, designed for post club action - lopsided, off kilter digital grooves, PHat beats with a Lynchian ambience
The Sun City Girls - Horse Cock Phepner (Placebo Records) - Not for the faint hearted - lo-fi free-jazz flavoured Zappa-esque guitar workouts to profanity riddled lounge numbers
Current 93 - Looney Runes (Durtro) - Post industrial folk cross over laced with backward tape action and apocalyptic lyrics and the lass from Strawberry Switchblade
Current 93 and Barry Dransfield, 30th July 1992 Walthamstow - along with the poster found in the Current LP - not bad gig for a fiver - I believe Barry didn't play on the night...
Barry Dransfield - S/T (Guerssen) - Outstanding set of proper folk songs - great vocal
Bonnie 'Prince' Billy - I See A Darkness (Palace Records) - Dark American SSW collection with minimal band accompaniment
Bill Fay Group - Tomorrow, Tomorrow and Tomorrow (Drag City) - Assemblage to make the "lost" 3rd LP - vinyl of Durtro expanded CD set - top collection of songs carrying an undercurrent of mellow xian tinged introspection with a sleepy late night FM radio quality
Jim Collins - Music Performed By The High Mass (Prosper) - Xian psych private flavour - spacey, strummed, sparse, epic moods with a loner lyric
Marcello Giombini & Enzo Barbarino - Transvitaexpress (Pro Civitate Christiana) - a proper trip to the other side in back in a 70s-Italian-nightmare-ish-synth-prog-ost-roller-coaster-ride
Vic Chesnutt - Is the Actor Happy? (Texas Hotel) - Sadly missed song-smith. The finest collection of songs imaginable with a solid rural porch outlook
Fleetwood Mac - Rumors (Warner Brothers) - I guess you either love or hate this - stadium ass blowin' action - Japnese edition with photo book and bi-lingual lyrics, OBI - the works
Cat Stevens - Harold and Maude OST (Vinyl Films) - Possibly the best OST of original songs ever - great songs end-to-end - Vinyl films over the top fanboy package...
Ivor Cutler - Life In a Scotch Sitting Room Vol. II (Harvest) - Wry words and wisdone from the only north of the border natural historian... it's all true

Against my better judgement, I'll help you out: it's Lies by the Knickerbockers.
Not expecting any thanks or even just an acknowledgement of the post, would be a first on here anyway.![]()
Listen, kiddo, you think YOU have had a bad day . . .

I've had this on constant rotation since yesterday.
Incredible lounge psych perfection.
To infinity - and beyond!
@jakartajive - never heard of the "Time Will Tell" LP until your post - on-line clips sound fantastic - on the list as a re-issue - OGs are a bit on the expensive side...![]()

The Coil and the Bonnie Prince are among my favourites and I think their peaks(although Sleazy had some great stuff with Gristle and Oldham has made better records as Palace). I was listening to the first Bill Fay on repeat today, possibly best record ever?I was hesitant to pick up the Drag City record but maybe I'll give it a try.
That Sun City Girls is godawful though, I nearly threw a party when I sold it.
"Master and Everyone" is my top Will Oldham LP by "Darkness" I'd not heard end-to-end for a longtime...

- it is a bit hard going, but like The Frog's "My Daughter the Broad" I'm suckered in by the minds behind the output - not the best SCG LP by a mile - still time-and-a-place

In an effort to get over yesterdays debacle, both of these. The first one is probably the only record I have ever regretted letting go

Attention!!! I know this is a very expensive Price for the record. This i one of my most beloved Records, so my primary intention isn't the selling. I like it in my collection. I only will sell it, if someone wants it that much, that he is willing to pay that much money. Therefore the unrealistic price. Please don't tell me about it. I don't want to cheat ,I don't force someone into buying it, I don't want to drive up the price. Thanks for understanding
Not had "Joya" on for a good while - gave it a spin earlier and can see where your coming from...
As a song-smith, Oldham is a bit of a proper craftsman - the songs "I See A Darkness" and "Death To Everyone" are classics. The Cash cover with Oldham on backing vocals is solid gold.
Was lucky enough to see Oldham solo in Venice a few years ago... where he played back-to-back hits - odd timings, whistling solos and all wraped in his quite unique quirky delivery - one of the best gigs I've ever seen.
P.G. Six "Parlour Tricks and Porch Favourites" (Perhaps Transparent) - mix of originals and covers. Trad folk arrangements accompanied by odd stringed instruments worthy of Bob Stewart - still not found any clips of ye old Psaltery

A cheapie I picked up in SF but probably one of my favourites from the haul (ironically a lot of the cheap gambles turned out the best picks). One particular song 'The Royal Road at the World's End' is a sprawling and mesmerizing thing of beauty. Just stunning. Alas nobody has stuck it up on Youtube yet or I'd demand you all listen to it. If anybody is in Croydon pop over for a cup of tea and I'll play it to you.![]()
