This is getting a lunch time spin:
It must be one of the strongest libraries (for my tastes anyhow) - not stop great fun. Defo making it's way to my next mix.

This is a bunch of Mitch Margo (out of the Tokens) demos from around 1980...unreleased, but uploaded by his son.
Anyone who digs Pacific Ocean Blue, Don Agrati, Robb Kunkel, Nilsson, Ned Doheny or even the majesty that is the Tokens/Cross Country needs to check this stuff out. There's also strong 'Ariel Pink wishes he was this good' vibes

"Not only that but the WHOLE COVER is UNCREASED with only 2 or 3 TINY creaselines near the opening edge about half way down!!!! In the same place (about half way down the opening edge), there is an absolutely TINY and PERFECTLY repaired split" (xxxrecords)
Cranium Pie - "Mechanisms Part 1"
Feed me stange things that make me dribblie like a two year old - hot on the heels for the Voice of the Seven Thunders and Andrew Liles LP comes the mighty Pie
Proper prog action door-to-door - references the lyrical endurance of Calvert, Moorcock and Alex Harvery at their best - backed with the musical muscle of the Deram-Nova-Vertigo-Swirl all Stars... another contender for LP of the year![]()
Surely gig of the year would be: Wolf People, Voice of the Seven Thunders with Andrew Liles and Cranium Pie at Cafe OTO sup-le-mented by a mini Beer fest of the good Kernel Brewery finest libations...
"It's all just one big plastic hassle..." - Psych-Out
In the mood for some folk rock today, been revisiting a couple old faves..
Always having a soft spot for early Linda..
...bit like David Allan Coe singing David Gates' tunes..btw someone should've introduced the opening track to Vegas-era Elvis, the King would've killed it...
Right now, checking out some old Linda Ronstadt footage I just came upon..

The aural history of the sex life of a cosmic corn popper
Pushing the oh-so-obscure boundaries with this mother [and child reunion].
And this.

The Kourosh Yaghmaei 7″ Box Set from Now-Again/Stones Throw
Excellent packaging with faithful reproductions of Kourosh’s four 7″ singles: “Gole Yakh/Del Dareh Pir Misheh,” “Leila/Paiz,” “Hajme Khali/Akhm Nakon,” “Saraabe Toe/Dar Enteha” and a booklet.
new york gong.it was very enjoyable
Inspired by the honesty thread I'm listening to the 'Yes Album'. It's quite silly but I like it every now and again. 'Starship Trooper' and 'I've Seen All Good People' are the best/silliest songs.
Since I've set up a turntable in my studio I'm finally getting to to catch up with my record collection. Five or six albums a day. It's the rad.
Today has also included;
Try as I might I can't seem to find my mood today. Yes are the closest so far - not sure what that says really...
keep returning to this album, played it again today, plenty of karma peace and love (apart from its title)
A taster To a Passer-By
Dug out 'America' first lp and 'Feel like i'm fixin to die' Country Joe and the fish after the discussions on the honesty thread.
America album was chilled, liked it, but after it finished I could not remember one tune from it.
Country Joe was much rawer than I remember, forgot it had harmonica all over it, blues psych perhaps ?

You thought the leaden winter would bring you down forever,
but you rode upon a steamer to the violence of the sun.

I just played Omni Trio Vol 1 (Deepest Cut) and before that a couple of 12"'s to get in the mood. That's such a good album and yes I know some of the 10" or 12" remixes are better, but you can always play those when the album is finished![]()
There's all sorts of weird and wonderful music/recording experimentation on it - it's odd but fantastic at the same time;
"Thirty amazing tracks recorded between 1903 and 1957, everywhere from England — Percy Grainger’s recording of the title song in 1908 — to the court of the Japanese emperor five years earlier, the stunning Segaiha.
Organ rolls from Georgia run alongside Tamils impersonating motorized transport and rumba from Beirut, vintage fado alongside the songs of Bengali beggars — with celebrated names dotting the mix, like Joseph Taylor, Fairuz, the Mighty Sparrow, and an uncredited Ruben Gonzalez."

Those first 2 Country Joe & The Fish albums are both killer IMO - after that it's patchy..good patchy though - I mean, 'Rock n Soul Music' ..kitsch but great
