Karen Novotny X - Nothing Here Now But These Recordings: 78-79 (The Great Pop Supplement)

Dark post-punk synth "pop" groover - fantastic listen - body-pop potential... fits nicely with the last LP in the Conrad Schnitzler "ConTainer T1-12" - early 80s Berlin...

Outer Space "Akashic Record (Events: 1986-1990)" - Spectrum Spools

John Elliott from Emeralds solo LP with support from like minded travellers - proper old skool kosmiche scapes and Prog elevations in the mode of Tangerine Dream, Tim Blake and some - arpeggiated synth runs, pulsating modulations and deep space sonic echos... the works..!

    Conrad Schnitzler "ConTainer T1-12" - Vinyl-on-Demand

A monster collection of twisted sine waves if ever there was one... was lucky enough to score a copy with the bonus 7" Single. First seven LPs are all synth driven kosmiche soundscapes... a mix of medative and relatively quesy-listening, but all solid and not the least bit dated... by side eigth I was fairly convinced I'd drop in to Tron (the film - not the spot in Glasgow) from an aural point of view...

Last LP and 45 are early wave and synth to minimal synth-pop - tongue in cheek at times, but totally fantastic

I'm not much of a one for classical music, but this late string quartet from very near the end of Shostakovitch's life has almost had me in tears a couple of times today.
It speaks of a looming darkness, an ache and loss and the knowledge that time wounds all wholes.
    Heavy, heavy stuff.

Robert Lamm (from Chicago) first solo LP from 74 - gorgeous laid back stuff with a couple of tracks I wish I could share via the delights of You Tube - but they are not there... Maybe one will find its way on to a mix soon - Fireplace & Ivy - lush and rich build up at the end to some frenetic drums and strings.

Crikey. You are no doubt aware of the incredible first Violin Concerto then? Amazing stuff, sublime to the ridiculous and back again, goes through so many emotions one loses count.
Attention!!! I know this is a very expensive Price for the record. This i one of my most beloved Records, so my primary intention isn't the selling. I like it in my collection. I only will sell it, if someone wants it that much, that he is willing to pay that much money. Therefore the unrealistic price. Please don't tell me about it. I don't want to cheat ,I don't force someone into buying it, I don't want to drive up the price. Thanks for understanding

I've been obsessed with this record the last few days.
Totally under the radar achingly gorgeous femme vox jazz with folk, soul and even country leanings.
    Truly devastating record.

I'm sure this must be well known by a few on this board but this has me transfixed of late.

Birmingham based folk, beautiful feel to the whole LP. Many great moments like 'Boothferry bridge', 'Seagull', 'England my England' and my particular favourite, 'Chris'.

Today it's all been about this for me . . .

Not entirely consistent, but where it's good, it's great.
Kind of like the missing link between Moby Grape, The Flying Burrito Brothers and The Raspberries.
    Cosmic cowboy Superpop.

And then a side helping off this lovely lost baroque UK folk pop gem to finish things off.

Great stuff... I have been listening a lot to "Hey Sandy" from his "Writer Of Songs" album for some months. A truly fantastic song, although depressing (it's about the Kent State Massacre).

And here's a fun Harvey Andrews fact: he also sang the "Riding Free" funeral song in the superbly daft British undead biker flick "Psychomania"...

(That's not him in this clip, but it is his voice).

    Been enjoying this 1970 gem a lot today . . .

Weird Cuban, UK, Maori, Aussie combo who did just the one LP on Jerry and Billy Butler's short-lived Memphis label.
It's a real odd record, not fitting neatly into any particular bag and containing traces of psych, soft rock, pop, jazz, MOR and more.
Kinda like The Soft Soul Transition LP or New Mix LP, and still seemingly fairly under the radar.

Some lovely sunshine vibes on there, like this one:

Had these three on all week on repeat (until Planstones package arrives) but spun them most of today...

Cyclobe - The Visitors (Phantom Code) - scored this at the Meltdown Festival last Saturday - vinyl edtion of a CD from 10years ago - proper abstact electronic soundscapes...

Outer Space - II (Blast First Petite) - Second LP by John Elliott of Emeralds fame under this moniker - deep space synth electronics with a Prog nod - the side long track is a gem of a Kosmiche lay-down-and-be-counted variety

Philip Sanderson - Hollow Gravity (Puer Gravy) - Electronic soundscapes with a sci-fi movie rumble combined with accessibly twisted grooves and disjoined voice samples - fantastic end-to-end listen

not so sure on the Head = gold, Nucleus = Silver. to my ears, it's a bit of a one tracker, a la Gonzalez.

give it a few months, i'll get bored and you can trade it for something Swiss and interesting. not the one with typewriters though, cos i got that one.

and it's pwoppah madness and excellent and stuff, yessuh. what is it with you Schwiss and the oddness, eh?

Is this the same Scottish prog jazz band who made the private press record i brought to Brillo couple of months back ?
