    Fiesta - Egil Straume

Someone mentioned this recently and I rushed onto the the 'bay for a cheap BIN on the strength of the clip - and now I can't find who it was - but thanks. Lovely record.

Default Jacques Dutronc - Second Album

Been to France recently and came back with this:-
Jacques Dutronc - S/t second album

What an amazing record! Now to get my French dictionary out and try and understand more than about half of what he's saying!

Dare I say Ive never listened to this LP, I know I should especially seen as own it on as a double pack with "S.F. Sorrow"!

I must make the effort to dig it out as I know I will love it seen as I'm a big Pretty Things fan!

I'd forgotten quite how sublime and searching this LP is.

Kind of like Bull Of The Woods if it'd been recorded by a west coast band in Nashville!

A Pip suffered far less pressure than, say, a Temptation, as all he had to do was back up the best female soul singer ever. His job was safe as he was Gladys' brother or cousin. Precise military choreography was a thing of the future, so all you had to was wind wool, hitchhike, click your fingers, twirl in vague unison and look loose and funky, and you got to wear the finest synthetic fibres known to mankind.

Six Organs of Admittance new LP 'Ascend'. His backing group on this one is Comets on Fire. Cool record, occasionally pretty noisy, always slightly psychedelic.

Fairfield Parlour - from home to home. Love this - great 60/70s pop. Recently discovered them via the recent sunbeam reissue of the Kaleidoscope singles. This is highly recommended. The sound quality is top notch. Anyone recommend something in a similar vein?

And by golly I am enjoying being enveloped in constant lush sounds and often bad songs.

Especially interesting I found Ziad Rahbani - Second Introduction (starting at 12.14). Intriguing music, only the laughter gets deeply irritating. Oddly enough, when I tried to get more information about the track, I stumbled upon a track with exactly the same name but a totally different one.
