You and me in the same boat - i too have to smuggle my haul in as she will frown sternly at me and say "more rubbish".

Maybe she has a point as it has reached the thousand mark and in our small place that's big!

My girlfriend turned me on to the sonics, I turned her onto the left banke. The only thing about my record obsession that isn't great for her is that I don't put more of it onto cd for her

The missus is totally fine about me hoarding records. She had a pretty decent collection herself when we met (Stooges etc) and is always open to hearing new sounds (well, not all of it, some records only get an airing when she's out of hearing range). In fact I just bought her a German OG of Computerworld for her birthday.

My wife really doesn't have a problem with my collection but while it can't fit to my record room which is turning to be our 15 month old daughters room at some point it's starting to get on my nerves. Due this, in NYE I promised to myself to cut down my collection by one 4x4 expedit which are basically just sitting in boxes. Wife is happy thou

Sooo, except to get some trades lists at some point (and if anyone is interested to get any set sale lists to their email just PM me).

My wife actually likes going to dingy second hand shops and record shops, though she enjoys digging for vintage clothing/fabric and books more than records.

it's fine with my girlfriend if i avoid too much guitar.
she likes the more folky, psych stuff. and some jazz of course.
she even started to memorize things about labels and stuff...at the flea recently she picked out a deram 45 and said "hei, thats the cool label you like."

(it was a whistling jack though

)
