Don't think he does take pleasure in it. He gets as angry when someone questions his descriptions as he gets happy when listing a mint Phil Collins raer

ps- I've met geesdee...and he's a total psycho. As in yer face and intense as you'd imagine
"Not only that but the WHOLE COVER is UNCREASED with only 2 or 3 TINY creaselines near the opening edge about half way down!!!! In the same place (about half way down the opening edge), there is an absolutely TINY and PERFECTLY repaired split" (xxxrecords)

I used to have a stall near him...when ever anyone was stupid enough to lift up one of his overpriced wares he would launch into one of his spiels. If they happened to remark that the price was a bit high he would snatch the record from their hands and bid them farewell with a few curses.

i just hate his massively patronising waffle for EVERY single record - earliest matrix ever - IMPOSSIBLE like this - you won't EVER find a copy like this...........blah blah blah, i repeat SHUT UP
I think everyone who reads his insane waffle should send him a question such as:

If it's "Impossible to Find", how did you find it?

Would a non-Ebay business get away with downright lies?

Do you think he copies & pastes standard paragraphs or just types frantically in a mad stream of consciousness

unknowingly caught in the slipstream of early evening mist that rises from the trees that line the coast of Belgium, the cyclists rode humming on into the dusk stopping only to engage in cut-up poetry involving strips of cedar bark, dried blood and a sickle of the kind seen on the silken Russian flags that flap so wildly in the Leningrad winter in which snow fell on endless snow coating the universe in a shroud of silent sleeping Mike

call his bluff - exactly. that's probably the best solution really, reveal his guff for what it is.

I really don't see why people haven't got something better to do that slag the XXX bloke off for making better money than most other people for selling rare records in really good condition.
He's obviously built up a really good reputation by not selling crap, and being exact in his descriptions. If there's a problem, he'll refund you without quibbling, as well.
He has good records to sell, I believe, because he works hard buying them and he pays very well for them.
Also - in contrast to many other ebay sellers - he doesn't write subjective bullshit about the music on the records he sells. He only talks about rarity, condition, and so on -no 'this is the most amazing freakbeat rarity I've ever heard, a must for every mod DJ' crap.

    I'm down.

correct... there's feedback, there's research anyone can do before buying and there's experience... if you're not sure DON'T BID!... have i bought lame records for more than they probably worth? of course, but i won't (and can't) blame the seller for that... even subjective opinions are within the bounds of fairplay, you just have to filter them... condition on the other hand is not... i'm more annoyed when the condition is worse than stated, than if i don't like the music (the latter is my problem really)... anyway, move with caution, not prejudice

I know I've got a bit of a rep for xxx slagging on here, cos of my signature and all, but truthfully I just find him hilarious

I mean, obviously his stuff is good- and that's great, but his descriptions ARE sometimes just ludicrous. NO CREASES, but some creaselines and a tear? What the fuck does that mean! heheh

Honestly, this thread was just meant to be about that record. Now geesdee is a different case, cos I've had personal beef with him in the past and been on the receiving end of one of his tirades

come on, i don't think that was the intention, at least for me, its more about the annoying gratuitous text sizes, over use of exclamation marks, and the odd contradictory description . no beef with the guy selling records for whatever he can get

I stand corrected: went for £500! That puts it in the top 10 easily (below The Pink Floyd demos, The Factory, Tintern Abbey, One In A Million and not much else I would guesstimate...)

well, it is xxx selling it, so I don't think that has much bearing on its overall value. He's sold dave clark five albums for £200 before now
