I'd be interested in the Arab Strap, Denim, and the Jimmy McGriff Groove Holmes one. Also maybe the Eddie Harris albums. I'll be putting up a trades list myself either sunday or monday but I'll PM you a list soon.

At first I bought records, then I started to collect records; now I merely accumulate records.

    Well..... takes deep breath....

She's from San Fran used to sing in 'The Charaltans' then her own group 'Tongue and groove' and this is a solo album from somewhere in the mid seventies. She's certainly has got a voice on her...

Great players on the record too... Hal Blaine, Mike Melvoin, Jerry Scheff, Gary Coleman, Jim Horn, Louie Shelton and the wonderfully named Therutius Deeps, amongst others.

She does Doug Sahm, Laura Nyro, N. Gravenitis and Oscar Brown jnr songs aswell as what appear to be originals, although they aren't credited to her. Well produced - great sound, wanders from country with a groove to pop songs. A decent brass section and a punchy rhythm set up.

    Hope that helps a bit.

Cheers for all that - I just wondered if was more country, rock or something else-slanted, but definitely sounds like it might be my cuppa, kinda Stoneground-ish hippy she-rock. If the 'How Much Is That Elephant...' comp is still going (the Shocking Blue one) I wouldn't mind a crack at that too. I'll check through my recently increased trades/sell pile for any 'funky fuzzy early 70s rock' that might be lurking there and PM you a list...

I was gonna ask about the Pink elephant (doh) and is that Link Wray (the shack cover)?
Enthusiastic vagueness passes for scholarship in the twilight world of the disc-jockey.

Mordicai Jones is the record, but it does have the linksters finger prints all over it, as he plays on it and it's recorded in his chicken shack... As featured on the country rock chart I did a while a go.

A little on the scuffed side, plays through...
