    Default Turntable furniture

I've had a lovely week smashing my house to pieces to reveal all the original stone features that were bricked / glossed / panelled over in the 60s and I now have a new sort of alcove in my living room that'll be just great to fit my turntable and amp.

They have currently been living side by side on a sideboard which is too wide to fit, so i'm looking for any suggestions for a nice bit of furniture which will accomodate an amp with a turntable on top, maybe about 2-3 foot tall.

I'm not looking for anything too 'hi-fi' looking - country cottage is the look i'm going for here...

    Anybody got any ideas?

I'm going through trying to sort this myself - I've become one of those wankers who talk about hans wegner mid century modern blah blah blah and lust after danish sideboards.

Anyways - I'm trying to go for a rosewood sideboard.

I'm currently wondering if dem Swedes in ikea have something good, I'm thinking some kkindaa vaugely shelf-y sideboardy thing to maximise use of space. Perhaps being able to store the RCM underneath. The nearest ikea is up next to Sarges gaff so its not as though I can just go and browse.

Gotta new turntable coming and I feel it would be offended by the piece of crap table I currently use (with boxes of VHS casettes underneath covered by an ugly african patterned sheet).

Slate shelves would do a good job here, sonic and aesthetic wise.

I've read that some turntable buffs like the Ikea Lack coffee table:

Some even join two together. I think they're dirt cheap, so might be worth a go.

I could do with something better myself.
This looks alright too. Ikea Corras:

Here's a lovely bit of IKEA conversion:

SEALED, this has a sticker on the front reading "COLOUR VINYL" so it's probably not black vinyl, even though black is a colour.
