flute in a quarry is a fine tune on El Topo, and there's a 45 of it too. however, go straight to "desert is a circle".

This guy is quite amazing, a retired bookseller his taste's in music are varied and his collecting bug pretty strong, Anyway here's what the part of the collection looks like:

He was also keen to show me his music mag collection, I haven't delved into this pile yet but I'm quite looking forward to reading some of these:

All of the records are stored in those crappy toast rack kind of stands that make age spots on sleeves and help them warp perfectly with weight / warmth.
On the plus side the room has no heating:

Todays finds (All original pressings (Apart from the sonny Clark which is a Liberty press) - The guy also showed me his card system detailing each record and how many times he's played them...None of the LP's below have been spun more than 6 times according to his star rating system:

There's a load more in there I'm keen on....
That Curtis Fuller / Benny Golson 'Arabia' LP has a killer jazz tune in the title track I let my copy of Doris Duke's 'Loser' go but that it one peachy southern soul LP.

Very well done on finding that lot.

Rune Gustafson has a killer breakbeat jazzfunk track on it, making it a keeper.
Music of el Topo - Crazy soundtrack with Luis Gasca and others..
Supply Demand & Curve - s/t Gentle Giant-type jazzy prog.
Music for drivers 1 & 2 (MPS) seems to be popular, but way too happy go lucky for me on a first spin.
Ginger Ale - Gin fizz Great 7" ,freebie from Saint Jude that arrived today. Thanks

Double Image, good ECM easy jazz with marimbas
Direct-to-disc disco on white vinyl. And some cheap auction buys, mostly jazz. Hardy Kingston is VV-friendly groovy fuzz guitar and good drums, but with annoying audience-cheering thruoghout (to ruin all plans on sampling).

More cheap auction buys. Thad Jones/Mel Lewis had some good funky parts. I've yet to listen to the Jazz Messengers recommended on here recently. Riffifi is swedish private press jazz-funk, and all three Tyners are great. Inner voices is a spare/trade.
    Tyner - 13th House - 'Love Samba' = A Banger (jazz style)

    One:

Some of you may remember I recently bought another J&R album that I considered to be more or less a one-tracker. This is lots better. Only listened once and I think it's all covers but with very imaginative arrangements making them sound really fresh in a vocal e-z/soft pop/jazz groovy kinda way. Even almost trippy at times. Standout track after first listening is a really weird (in a positive way) take on Lady Madonna.

I remember Winds of Heaven being sung in one groovy tune I liked. Only listened through it halfheartedly yet, but it seems quite even and promising on the whole.

Think I might single out Lady Madonna because:
    a) it's the last track on the record so easiest to remember
    b) it was an odd version - couldn't tell what song it was at first
    c) there were some weirdo electronic voices or echoed voices or distorted or something coming in at the end

There may very well be other tracks that are much better.
