    Default Uploading files to t'internet

I've got a few tracks recorded that I fancy popping up as a chart (including Jimmy Tarbuck's version of "All My Loving" ), but as I've not done this before I'm after a bit of advice. Where's the best and - safest - place to upload music files on the internet, and what's the preferred format (e.g. MP3)? Any other advice, like safest naming so they're less likely to be removed, will be much appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Stuart

i use divshare. never a problem. upload as mp3s. prob best at 192kbps. unless it's tracks by very famous or famously litigious artists, it is unlikely anyone will care to remove them.

You should hear his version of 'I Should Be So Lucky' - +

Actually, if anyone has a copy I really need one - the only one I've been able to find is in Sweden for some reason.......

There are few musical depths I haven't plumbed - what give-away CD's that, then?

Thanks for all the advice - I've managed to get them popped up on DivShare and posted them in the "Charts" forum.

I too have plumbed those depths! Mike Reid did a couple of Lps in the 70s, as did Brucey. I also have Bernard manning 'my kind of music' (and no, its not nazi songs just MOR ballads) .

almost all dire beyond belief apart from a few quirky arrangements on one Mike reid Lp.
I believe the Dennis waterman stuff has the odd gem but not yet checked it out!

Oh, there's definitely some real gems to be plundered from the open cess-pit of celebrity recordings. One of my faves is Bob Monkhouse, doing a lovely Mark Wirtz produced 7" on CBS, called "In My Dream World" (it ended up as a hidden track on one of those "Circus Days" LPs and took me ages to find).

the trunk thing has a very unusual selection, and the sequencing is unique in modern times:

    bruce forsyth
    terry thomas
    mike and bernie
    ronnie corbett
    bob mitchum
    dick emery
    leonard nimoy
    cheryl ladd
    walter matthau
    benny from crossroads
    telly savalas
    john travolta

mmmm. just what i was thinking.

keep up the good work, senor trunk.

Ever heard his version of Adriano Celantano's 'Presincolinainsinaincuisol'? Genuinely brilliant - I prefer it to the original, not least because of the incongruity.

I like the thought of a Monkhouse/Wirtz collaboration - must look for that!

I'm burning a few CDs to take to Brillo tomorrow, so I'll add it to it, and hold one back for you if you're there tomorrow.

It is a truly wonderful track!

No problem - I'll stick the tracklisting up when it's done, and if the other stuff takes your fancy, let me know and I'll post one through to you.
