Ive only heard the talking on pelham and it's on of my favourite soundtracks. The film itself is one of my faves too, love the ending.

Oh no it wasn't! It was written by Peter Stone from the book by John Godey. Shaw was in it, yes, and wrote several novels, but he wasn't responsible for this.

heard of guy who picked up a Conversation LP in Texas but think it was the Japanese pressing. Farewell My Lovely is easy to find on vinyl. Not sure about Pelham 123 - have it on CD alright, reissue from recent years as was The Conversation.

There isn't a Jap Conversation LP - only a '45 to my knowledge. Sounds like a bit of a porky to me. A tall Texan tale. Let's see some jpegs then

Pelham 1,2,3 came out on CD, was booted on LP, then released legitimately in a different cover shortly thereafter. . .

He was, can't remember exactly where. They named a pub after him in his hometown, perhaps not the most tasteful tribute to a chronic alcoholic, but certainly an appropriate one.

My research assistant has confirmed Robert Shaw was born in Westhoughton, Lancashire (near Bolton, for non-Lancastrians).

I've given him the rest of the night off.

    You're probably right.
    I knew a 45 existed.
He said it was an LP from Antoine's in Austin. Good shop.
I have no way of verifying it as he doesn't live in Ireland anymore.
It's quite possible he's either a) mistaken or b) lying.

Re - Pelham LP, presume it's the Simply Vinyl LP. I'm not mad on their pressings. The CD came out on Film Score Monthly.

Lancastrians refers to folk from Lancaster, which is Cumbria I think - not wanting to be a pedant you know. People from Lancashire like black pudding, pies and bitter

    But Alan. . that. . that's. . .that's a *cough* CD!

And they're very wrong in stating "This is the premier release of The Conversation soundtrack (in any form!)".

    The fools.

Good filum though; waiting to revisit Pelham this week, perhaps.

What are people from Lancashire called, then? I suppose I was thinking of the War Of The Roses and not crossing the counties.

Great film and soundtrack - a favourite.

I have the Film Score Monthly CD issue - if memory serves, it does contain some of the "freaky fx" featured in the movie.
