Default Gainsbourg "La Horse" & "Mr Freedom" 7" reissues. . .

Now in stock at all good online soundtrack vendors!

Appear to be legit numbered reissues, pleasingly packaged.

Arrived on my doorstep today - be the first digger on YOUR BLOCK to purchase these elusive goodies.

    Or not.

But they're not bad - the flip of "La Horse" is also a decent reprise, and 2 of the 4 "Mr Freedom" tracks are groovers.

AND it beats spending £1,500 on original copies

Dunno how "limited" these are, as one of mine is 1000 and something. . .still.

    Probably worthwhile grabbing.

Pity it doesn't have that Sofa Surfers and Howie B mix on there...

What do you mean "not bad" - there's no polite way to ask this but... "ARE YOU COMPLETELY INSANE?????"

They're not bad as in - pretty good really.

They'd be better had they been a bit cheaper.

"La Horse" is insanely catchy - not entirely convinced by "Mr Freedom" yet, but it's 50% hammondfemmevoxfunktastic. Gotta say I think there are cheapies which probably match this in terms of musical merit and danceworthiness - I know it's super scarce but that doesn't mean it's better than something less expensive I.E. "Melody Nelson", for one.

Err. . .sorry for the bout of recession-speak.

yeah, just got the "La Horse" 7 myself today...nice to have it on a legal issue (better than that dodgy 12 of a few years back with the re-edits of that and "Requiem pour Un Con")...sounds like it's been re-mastered too, pricey but worth it...

Is that the les annes psychedeliques comp you mean, or a 12" single? Don't know if that's a boot comp but it does have "bonus beats" for requiem and another song which is just the breaks looped.
Don't know what I'm talking about really, it's probably not that you mean.

Love this - probably one of my all time favourite soundtracks, but has anyone seen the film?

Or better still - can anyone furnish me with a copy of the film?

Also available are reissues of 'L'Homme Orchestre' & 'Femina Ridens', awesome rare-as-rocking-horse-poo soundtracks.

Hmmm, Contemplating trading off some of my scarcer stuff now. What's the deal - do originals generally increase in value, or fall after a reissue?

I'd say stay the same - maybe the "casual collector" will settle for the re-press, but then loads more people hear the track and MORE people want the OG...

Totally dependent on what it is, surely? I mean, Car Wash, La Baby Sitter, Last Porno Flick, etc........major difference here, right? Certain OST I've sold did increase in value after being re-issued, but this was the distinct minority. IMHO, selling records in 2009 is a mugs game surely? Just look at the bay for what's going down with rares, it's gotta be dang rare for Library/OST for the seller to even justify trying in the first place!!! Kind of depressing and so I guess decent re-issued uber-rares might well be expected to gather interest in the next few years as sellers keep hold of their golden egg OG's for a better prosperous time ahead.

Ahh, sorry didn't see these replies.
Selling records is a bit of an anathema to me, so they'd be trade fodder only.
I know what you mean about prices - I've seen loads of stuff fetching relative peanuts lately, so it would truly kill me to see them go for around a tenner or something silly.

Stick it on cdandlp.com and discogs and wait n'see, wait n'see.

Discogs seems to appear above most other stuff in google searches so it has high visibility. . .

Then you can just sit & wait until anyone pounces.

Gotta bag me one of those L'Homme Orchestra rekkids.
