Annoying thing for me is i've left this a couple of times back when i used to see that series of LP's rather often - was instantly put off by the title and didn't turn it over to read the credits and then there were none........................

Vadim are just about to reissue the French equivalent to this LP - "Archi-Cordes" - on vinyl - one of their limited and numbered pressings. Might be a cheaper way of just getting the recordings, and worth bearing in mind that "Violent Violins" itself is really a later reissue of the French album.

Is 'Plays For Dancers' a contemporary issue or was that released later too?
it's OK to head out for wonderful, but on your way to wonderful, you're gonna have to pass through all right. When you get to all right,
take a good look around and get used to it, because that may be as far as you're gonna go.

I D/L-ed it from a blog and was very underwhelmed... am I missing an utter corker of a track on it?

Still got the CD with it on... I'll have to listen again without prejudice.

Ahhh.... of course it has! Completely forgot about Di Gue Ding Ding because it's been on so many comps / ads etc.

Nice to have on vinyl obviously....

    As you were.

Saw a copy of this last year in Oxfam in Colchester for £8. Didn't know it, and the sleeve/year kind of put me off plus the price tag so I left it.

    Maybe it's still there!

Have looked for Certain Lions since 1991 when I got the circle of sound sampler from a chazza. Have NEVER seen a copy in any shop/fair/boot sale ever. Had to pay full whack for mine off ebay.
