This weekend I found out that I am an arsehole who can no longer really do 15-hour binges whilst retaining much self-respect, integrity or coherence.

That's the guy. Said he'll probably be in Fairyhouse next weekend and probably in Kilkenny in four weeks time. Quite a few good records but most were outside my budget range and some were definitely overpriced. I got in fairly late so didn't have a chance to fully check the other stalls but from what I could see, no one else was selling records.

cream wheels of fire, all mint records, covers a bit worn though.

Pretty poor pickings for me just lately. I seem to be suffering from that "it's a f*****g car boot missus" feeling a bit. Vastly overpriced stock (Elvis LP super TRASHED £60!!!) and overinflated ego's "they wouldn't walk into Debenhams and haggle over the price" - both of you "it's a f*****g car boot!!!!"

Charity shops chucked these out so I shouldn't complain really. All in superb condition.



Hair in Loughborough, Carmen £3 in Derby! and Timoneers in Burton.

And don't get me started on the prices upstairs at Derby Guildhall thingy...

Not from the weekend really Me and Mr Divine went to look at a mutual acquaintance's collection which they were selling part of in preparation for doing some travelling - he's got some great records and not everything was for sale (I still want those Beatstalkers 45s ) but we had a great time wading through the boxes (and boxes) of stuff and deals were struck!

Baby Batter and Cristo Redentor are the bestest, I've been informed.

a few wirral chazzers and booters yielded:

Donny osmond - disco donny. This has some absolute stonkers on, mike curb really delivers some funky arrangements here - worthy of any mandingo LP! Especially pleased as I wasn't expecting osmonds-type funkiness on this 1976 lp.
Sinatra and company - Deodato etc. Only had this on an 8- track tape until now! sadly disocvered an edge warp when I got it home - right on 'agua de beber' too never mind only 75p down.
Top Of the Pops vol. 27. Passable version of Avenues and alleyways
Robert wyatt - nothing can stop us. Great album, Nice to have his version of strange fruit
Frankie valli /4 seasons greatest - double, includes all the classics and beggin'
wilton felder - we all have a star. not played, has the other crusaders guesting tho'.
Steve Vai - Flexable. 'Little green men' is pure upbeat zappa!
Terry wallace - moog superstar. Bears little resemblance to the original recording which is probably for the best. real moog madness, at times far-out and also groovy at others.
Quincy jones - the dude. Had a soft spot for this album, decent 80s soul-funk....An album that even your vinyl-hating woman is going to like.
James last band - thats life. swingin' version of go away little girl
Dewolfe - synthesis. A few easy moments but a case of 'Too much catgut'

also : the roberto delgado Lp with 'the mosquito' on, an Art blakey Lp on vogue, with 'scotch blues' on, and two unremarkable DJM Harry stoneham LPs - 'shadow of your smile' and 'this is stoneham' I think.

I've got the first three and like them a lot. Kind of remind me of Phil Upchurch's Cadet LP's. Nice version of Nat Adderley's Jive Samba on Righteous.

Just found a stone-mint Ramases - Space Hymns in a charity shop with the card Roger Dean fold-out cover etc... but the label is not the swirly one. So.......

How much is it worth? Have I wasted my 50p? How much can I get for it? Where can I sell it? How fast can I sell it? Will it clear my mortgage? Why is it worth a lot / not worth much and who's to blame?

Listen to it, you great buffoon! It took me a while to get into it but 'Life Child' is excellent, as is 'Hello Mister' and so on...

I didn't realise the spaceship issues came in a fold-out sleeve? In my experience a VG record should cost you 10p and a VG sleeve should cost approximately £3. A custom made sleeve by the child of the previous owner is priceless, however.

Keep it and enjoy it. Please.
