    Default Getting down for Xmas

Anyone know any decent Christmas tunes that bring the funk? Going to be spinning funk and soul 45s at a Christmas party in December and would like to drop a couple of festive funk bombs while also adding a sprinkling of seasonal soul. I know some people HATE Yuletide music, but for some reason I'm not one of them.

So far I'm thinking: JB - Hey America, It's Christmas; Darlene Love - Christmas (Baby Please Come Home); maybe Booker T & the MGs - Jingle Bells (a bit cheesy/shit?).

Would also like to find a copy of Getting Down for Xmas by Milly & Silly, but I ain't holding my breath.

    Any other suggestions?

Attention!!! I know this is a very expensive Price for the record. This i one of my most beloved Records, so my primary intention isn't the selling. I like it in my collection. I only will sell it, if someone wants it that much, that he is willing to pay that much money. Therefore the unrealistic price. Please don't tell me about it. I don't want to cheat ,I don't force someone into buying it, I don't want to drive up the price. Thanks for understanding

    Default Dr Rubberfunk's Funky Christmas

It seems a bit early, and there's some crossover with Stoneface's mix, but I've got 3 volumes of Christmas mixes in the vaults

    Vol.1 : http://www.verygoodplus.co.uk/showthread.php?t=6943
    Vol.2 : http://www.verygoodplus.co.uk/showthread.php?t=11783

and volume 3 didn't seem to get a thread but it's here with a tracklist, some back story and direct links to Vol.1 & 2 aswell

Rotary Connection did an xmas album (Peace?) and there's Christmas albums from Salsoul and Ze Records. Plus you could drop norvern soul "classic" "Skiing In The Snow".

What about 'Thank God it's not Christmas' by Sparks?

    Did anybody go to this

    http://www.tate.org.uk/modern/events...istmas2459.htm

I remember browsing through the 1,200 Christmas records and making a few notes (sadly lost)

I remember quite enjoying it until Mat Wand played a 45 of Silent Night at 33... then I could take no more.

There's a two hour radio show with full playlist here with Christmas soul and funk from The Soulful Strings to Gichy Dan via Motown, Stax, Ze and Chess.

    Check out this Blog.
