Default I'm not saying she's the star attraction here but...

she's part of this essential OST:

CORSO: What kind of advice you got for politicians?

BURROUGHS: Say the truth once and for all and shut up forever.

I was waiting for someone to mention that one! Amazing sound-effects

I quite like 'You've not changed' and 'I've heard about him' as well. Both common as muck.

What's going on in this thread? You've all be hanging around here too much chasing obscures and what not.

Let's try a different angle. Somebody explain to me *plaese* what is wrong with

    I Couldn't Live Without Your Love ????????

    It's a bloody fantastic song.

    • Delicate piano intro
    • Finger click drums to nail the beat
    • Euphoric sing - a - long chorus
    • Subtle changes in tempo / texture
    • Key change halfway thru (cheesy technique granted but still.....)

What's a matter wi' all of youse?

Almighty Youtube Defenders of La Clark

Sweet and Innocent only Pet can do this

    What a babe !

Don't ever doubt it. It hasn't changed. It's awesome. I like to hear the intro over and over. It brings tears to my eyes. And I'm a dumb hick!

Its a great 60's song mate, even if you did have to hear it under unfortunate circumstances, all the best pal.

I miss the times when all singers needed was talent and stage presence. What the hell happened?

yes, once upon a time female singers had talent, class, and didn't dress or act like hookers.

    etc etc etc.....

Let's hear it for the normals.

They're gathering behind me... a small army of normal people defending Petula and Tony and demanding their voice be heard!

And they're building a time machine too. But that slightly strange off-path tactic doesn't weaken their argument in any way.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

    I REALLY miss those years.

simply brilliant song by one of our greatest female singers, great writing by jackie trent and tony hatch, jackie was also a great singer in her own right as well.

An absolutely incredible voice. Her vocals are unmatched. What memories her songs bring! Thanks for posting.

Tony Hatch's arrangements were a big part of this success, along with Pet's marvelous voice.

A great song to "re-discover" after all these years. Fabulous composition, super driving piano arrangement and strong vocals. The mix is phenomenol and its just an overall catchy song. Thanks for posting this classic Petula song!

THANK YOU FOR MAKING SMILE WHEN I HEAR ALL YOUR WONDERFUL SONGS MISS PETULA CLARK. YOU MAKE ALL OF OUR DAYS SO WONDERFUL! All Those TERRIFIC SONG AND LYRICS WRITERS TO YOU TO A GREAT BIG OLE THANK YOU! THANKS FOR THIS WONDERFUL VIDEO!!!

Gosh! haven't heard this in about a hundred years! Wish I was 16 again!

Petula Clark...the # 1 all time selling female vocalist in England..for good reason. Great vocals; great songs.

a big thank you for such a quality video! and for miss clark no one sings it any better! you got to love it!

Anybody else feel like building a time machine and going back....

let me know when you've found one and i'll come with you!

this music gives me such a buzz....

without a doubt ...would do it in a heartbeat....what a time it truly was.....we were rich..and did'nt know it......

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

Prepare for your longest day 'Tula haterzzzzzz.

Attention!!! I know this is a very expensive Price for the record. This i one of my most beloved Records, so my primary intention isn't the selling. I like it in my collection. I only will sell it, if someone wants it that much, that he is willing to pay that much money. Therefore the unrealistic price. Please don't tell me about it. I don't want to cheat ,I don't force someone into buying it, I don't want to drive up the price. Thanks for understanding

Petula? - popular entertainment goddess for more than 60 years? First British woman to have a US No1? Worked with Serge Gainsbourg & J.C. Vannier? Best version of an A****w L***d W****r song ever known? 'Don't Sleep In The Subway' (proper Pet sounds), the kitsch of 'L'Agent Secret', the slightlydelia of 'Colour My World', 'Butterfly', great covers of 'Rain', 'Bang Bang', 'A Well Respected Man' and 'Cry Like A Baby' and even a bonafide electropop classic in 'Mr Orwell'?

    What's to discuss?...
you can hear colours when they rhyme...

I'm with you, Lee - definitely worth it for those two.

I also like Ya Ya Twist, but then I like cheesy dance craze records done by otherwise famous artists (see also, Frank Sinatra's Everybody Twist).

I had that one as a kid and some Lonnie Donegan. Still got them back in UK. Pye Nixa - now there's a nice format. Vinyl -not shellac- at 78 RPM!! Amazing powerful mono sound

I think your 2009 CD is very good at cheering me up - how can any mix that includes the Minitones be otherwise?

Just remember that the Mini-Tones are the true originators whilst Sm@ll World are mere plagiarists
