    Records all about the bass

Found a nice copy in the wild of Eddie Palmieri's lp "Live at Sing Sing Vol I".

It's the bass that does it... not Palmieri.

Once I was the bandbooker for a small local non-profit rock-club. Some guy sent us a demotape with only 90 minutes of complicated slapbass solos. He wanted an insane amount of money to come and perform live on stage for up 2 hours and could not understand in his folloup phone calls why a small punk/indie rockclub aimed at "the kids" were not interested at all.... that's all about the bass...

The first 10 records Warp ever released with the purple sleeves

Forgemasters, Nightmares On Wax, Sweet Exorcist, DJ Mink, LFO, The Step and Tomas... Maybe not so much on Tricky Disco release

More bass than a crack-heeds picnic

Only ever heard the second one, which is great.

I love Eddie to death, but he was always the more cerebral of Mrs Palmieri's boys. Charlie hit the ivories harder and never forgot what his left hand was for.

The Beatles - With A Little Help From My Friends. Funky bassline in an otherwise sickly sweet pop song.

Ed Rush & Optical - Funktion (V Recordings)

Customary build up with crunchy drums, and then a sqigglely jazz funk bass sound is introduced, and as you are nodding your head, boom! a wave of bass absolutely kills it, monster!

that's one of my favourites. haven't seen it for a while, though, since when there's been in-depth timbale discussion in the comments. Yay.

There was another great clip where Charlie was giving a music lesson to some barrio kids, but it seems to have gone now.

The Golden Cups' version of HEY JOE where the bass burns like a thing possessed and takes the song into japanese mental mind madness meltdown - and beyond.

Most incredible bass playing I have ever heard in my life.
                    To infinity - and beyond!

If you're looking for a pristine copy then this isn't the one for you. The vinyl looks like someone has polished their brickwork with it and the label has been ruined by some fool with a pen.
