I do like it but having said that I'm not a huge fan of the Airplane full stop - I've never paid over a quid for any of their records and having heard them I still wouldn't. Have you heard the Great Society LP by the way?

Not a dud track on this record far as I can hear, Willow tree is great pop of the highest order, and that guitar riff on the opening track is proper heavy.

They're highlights to my ears, the rest is OK, I can leave the record on.

Lee - did you find the Moody out and about in the wild then?

Great looking finds, I have and rate The Tremeloes and The Mindbenders. Fab 60s pop. How are the Ian & The Zodiacs and the Howie Casey? I like a bit of lesser Merseybeat.

OK Mr Sundae - I'd stretch to £2 they do some tracks I really rate - 'two head' for example but I just don't find them a consistent listen (plus Grace Slick's voice annoys me a bit ).

I don't hate them or owt.....I save that for the Grateful Dead

I wish! Xmas present from my wife which was sourced from a certain French online shop for a very good price. Standard regulation digging coincidence rules mean that I will now turn one up for a quid in the wild

Never seen one in the wild, or in captivity.

Actually, I DJed with Polo from Reckless a few times about seven or eight years ago, and he had the only one I've seen.
We know when a mate buys it for you too.

The one I got in a trade was from someone who found two in 18 months..! From different charity shops within the same town...

stopped off at three charity shops in Mt Eden yesterday and picked up some interesting stuff - still haven't played them so anticipation is hi.

a Alan Tew album from 1978, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, with an updated Hanged Man, Eve of the War and a James Bond medley. I'm assuming this'll have something of a disco tinge?

Living Marimba doing Johnny Cash covers. must have something on it shirley?

Ames Bros, can't remember the title - I dropped the reccords at home on my way here, they can get a uppity when I come in from a job with vinyl tucked under my arm - but has a big band, vocal version of Night Train I'm looking forward to hearing.

The Music of James Last - well, it's got the Kinks' Apeman, so I couldn't leave it behind.

and, damn, two others. knew I should have written something down.

and huzzah, I'm into three figures post-wise.

now, off to see the National tonight. don't know anything at all about them, but a few folks around here seem to be excited. crap thing is I got the tickets before hearing that Wire are playing tomorrow and three consecutive leave passes is far from likely. They'd better be damn good or I'm writing a strongly worded letter.

    what a nice afternoon.
i didn't plan to buy any records at all but had some sparetime in zurich so dropped by in a couple of shops.
think i've never been able to buy such good stuff for so few money (sorry, no personal pics).
guess i'll start buy lps again

first i came across a nice minty mono og of this garage classic.
wild, raw, beaty...this album has everything a good garage record needs!

    then coudln't resist grabbing this.
some cool moody groovy countryesque tunes on this.

i was about to leave when i spotted this beauty in the 1$ section:

well known dreamy sun flavoured folk thing.

next shop just got in a nice collection of prog stuff which was all a bit too pricey for me. so i went for a cheap nice german press of another beautiful piece of music i wanted for quiet some time:

on to the next shop which surprised me with a clean og i had on my wantlist for quiet some time:

then i was hypnotized by the strength of the last track of this santamaria record. mindblowing stuff (for me at least!). heavy deep jazz tune!
so i had to grab it for next to nothing.

and i couldn't leave this behind neither. what a beautiful lp!

so on to the next shop where i had some storecredit left.
a reissue of this spiritual jazz record was bought instantly.

and somehow i suddenly thought i might now be ready for this cheapo lp:

    and i was and am.

and because all went so well i thought i could finally grab me a vinyl copy of this excellent numero release:

and before leaving i bought a recent uk 12" of some downtempo minimal electro pop artist whos name escapes me right now.

    funy day!

The Numero thing is Pisces - "A Lovely Sight" previously unreleased. It's a belter as well. Got to give mine another spin.

Great record mate, the mono is the rarer press, and the most desirable due to the vesion of 'I'm a man'.

    Great finds BTW.

I have not found anything. I am however going to pick up Cannonball Adderly's Soul of the Bible at the Post office on my way home from work in about 2 hours...

...now let's see why this is so talked about. Pure chance-taking based on me seeing it mentioned here and on other places on the web for several years back- I will hold all of you and the internet itself responsible for wasting my money if I hate it.
