    I knew that would float your boat. I saw Cathy from the bus the other day, strutting through town in a backless dress that swished "I'm IT! I'm IT! I'm IT!" with every sashayed step. And, do you know, she was IT. She really was, and I miss her constantly now. I can't stop thinking of her inky tailbone.

    Agent Jay and has ass-nipples have not made the local news for some time. I'd hate to think he was a flash in the pan attention seeker, committed to sensationalism rather than his Art. Perhaps he's signed an exclusive with a magazine or gallery?

    This is a fine example of the journalistic use of the passive mode. As the interest of the reader is rivetted upon the fate of the sausage casserole, it is made the subject of the sentence. The reader is less concerned with who actually ate it.
    The passive mode is frequently used by lazy journalists to mask insufficient or unconvincing research, but here it's use is exemplary, putting the errant casserole at the very heart of the action.
