Love the backing track though. Perhaps it'll appear on a minimal synth comp minus vocals and guitar!

Awesome intro that I love to blast out at full volume on the car stereo. All in all a great album, as were all three John Foxx/Ultravox albums.

I don't think it makes it that bad... and the guitars set them apart from other similar bands, they have some great tracks with proper guitar wanking on them.

Got the charity bug so did another two today that I've never been to before. (Thanks to my friend who showed me the way). Everything was 50p and there where looots of crates in the first one, picked up 12 LPs and two 45s there. Next one was even cheaper at 30p for LPs but only found one record worth picking up. I left the moog record on Golden Hour, that is shit right?

There's also a peculiar bubbly beatless piece called "Sleep Walk" lurking at the end of side 2 that is quite different from everything else on the LP. It's listenable but not quite great and is perhaps best regarded as a failed attempt at futurism/experimentalism tagged onto the end of the LP simply to get band member Derek Scott a share of the publishing royalties. The album has it's moments and at £1 or less feels like a keeper.
The same track also crops up as an uncredited bonus track at the end of 1996's "Easy Project 2: House of Loungecore" compilation (CD and LP+12" editons)

In line with my old year resolution to post finds a bit more frequently (to cut down on how arduous my more sporadic posts are!), here's a few things that I acquired last week:
Parliament trade with Carlitos, almost got the set now, but could do with an Osmium OG (good luck with that!). Curfew was off the 'Bay, but nice and cheap - think I was the only bidder - it's all about 'Photogenic Jenny'. The glorious Vannier box set, courtesy of the Finders Keepers crew. Really great package and congratulations are due to all concerned. B52s was part of a trade on the market on Saturday (more of which re: the next pic), I've got a bit obsessed with 'Rock Lobster' lately, part nostalgia and part cos it's a fucking great tune!
Continuing the trades deal I did on the market on Saturday. I took loads of my recent trades listings down (as warned!) and I also 'filletted' my collection, taking out items I can't see me using again or random bits of funk/soul. Cheeky bit of Acker Bilk, obviously for 'Acker Raga'. I got my 'Mojo' working and dipped my toe in the Dylan pool for the first time, but mainly cos of the Godlike presence of The Band. VV/VG+ 'canon' piece of CCS. And, completely influenced by the recent documentary, decided to pay the Quiet Beatle a bit more respect.
Top two were also trades from Saturday. UPP is nice funky/jazzy prog, good tunes and some breaks - little bit masturbatory on the bass, but enjoyable nonetheless. Yup, Mombasa acquired for a very reasonable trades price. Shame that the sleeve's a little damaged (must have been stored in slightly damp conditions) but the vinyl's in great shape. Not my kind of music though, so if anyone's got a suitable trade to offer me, feel free to PM. The bottom two were off the same eBay seller (to get value out of postage) a few weeks back and have only just landed. Sole bidder on both items. Dead chuffed to have Rotary Connection OG, containing my favourite tune of all time. Have to say, I think the Prince 12" is my favourite recent acquisition though. Christ he was amazing during this era, what a talent!! More of these please!

so, not only did we win what's come to seem an unwinnable fixture (most of our cricket team weren't even born the last time we won in Oz) and, as Plainstone suggested, had a wee dance in the streets, but I just picked up my third spare of Hansi's Well Kept Secret in the past two weeks.
it's got to mean something. any Mayans in the house?
