Aliens are crap. Predators breed them like pheasants for hunting.

Ignoring certain absurd Predator-related comments ...

Did anyone click on the image above? It's not from Aliens.
Here are some bits and pieces to get you interested:

There are many theories about how the eggs got aboard the derelict.
The nature of the derelict and its crew are a mystery, left intentionally
unanswered by the original crew that produced Alien. A definitive answer
could be given to viewers in Prometheus
If the Alien can transform people into eggs (per the Alien Director's
Cut), how does the egg-laying Queen fit in?
It is possible that a definitive answer will be given in Prometheus.

Don't want to be a wet blanket but wouldn't it be interesting (or watchable even) if they tried to make a sci-fi / action film without CG?

I don't think i've seen a CG film that didn't feel like watching a cartoon.

You think Alien/Aliens was only about CG?

I don't remember Ripley being Irish?

I watched Alien with my kid over christmas on a small screen. He thought it was boring and so dark you could hardly see anything. ISTR Aliens is a bit better.

I've also been worried about the inconsistencies in alien reproduction and life cycles. Anyone might think that they obeyed the demands of film plots rather than natural selection.

It was made by a director who started out in CGI, and I think there was quite a bit, just a bit more low key. I was fooled by a lot of the landscapes.

Can't remember any effects in Moon, but it was a bit boring and could have used a horde of rampaging mantis-faced jabberwocks, to be honest.

I thought that Ridley Scott had said that Prometheus was not part of the Alien series and wouldn't shed any light on any of that stuff? Or was that some kind of red herring?

It's a road movie/indictment of US involvement in Central Asia/ commentary on immigration policy, amongst other things.

I just worry that the director has been tapped for the next Hollywood Godzilla abortion. The octopus coupling scene was great, though.

and many more. If ever there was a genre where more is less, this is it.

Skyline was also made by CGI whizz-kids. But in that case they seemed to decide that a script was completely unnecessary.
