    Default Record Gratis

    As mentioned in the main forum;

    I'll post a record that will be purused by you good dudes, PM to grip and I'll send it free in the UK to your front door. 1st PM gets the nod.

    Rules:
    If you grip, you post a record gratis and the whole thing continues until we run outta petrol.
    It doesn't have to be all Average White Band (Person to Person) - but it can be, but don't have to be.
    The only rule is that if there is grippage, there must be flippage.

    Interesting records a plus.

    You must have 100 posts to save anyone getting burned.

    This is free in the UK, postage in Europe is 5 postage in US is 7

    It would also be cool if recipients rep said record with a short review

    First up to bat, I give you;

    GREECE in Music and Song - ARGO - UK.

    As included in my Xmas mix. Stumbled on another copy of this LP in a junk shop in Bury in December. A very enjoyable and rewarding LP.
    Totally cool and eerie, "free jazz" like in places and very haunting UK pressed field recording;

    Did Effi grip it, or did he start off a new chain of gripping and flipping? I thought I understood this but now i'm confused!

    Yes, I was thinking about that too but I came to the conclusion that anybody can post the record(not just the last 'gripper').

    oh well, sorry all.
    i didn't grip it.
    i just started a new chain, because its more fun with more than one record in circulation. of course this is only necessary in the beginning. after that 3 or 4 records were posted here from the "startpersons", it should be lively enough and all run on its own. which mean, grip an offered record and offer a new one.

    mark, can you explain this? i'm struggling with my english here...

    OK -

    The basis of this, for me, is record khama - just giving something away for free, something interesting, gifting someone.

    Anyone can grip, anyone with over 100 posts.
    Anyone can, at any time, pop something up.

    It doesn't have to be person to person, just if you want something and are the first to PM, then you commit to popping something up for others to grab.

    The review bit would be the key part of this for me.

    I suppose it's not dissimilar to "freebies" given away by members like Ben, just a bit more focused.

    Don't give to receive

    & No Sevi didn't grip, but he's popped a real interesting LP up that someone will be sent, for free.

    P.S. Grippers who grip and fail to flip will have to take that shame to the other side and will be haunted for eternity

    OK - here's one from me for starters.

    Minty copy of James Last's most funky recorded moments - 'Well Kept Secret' free to a good home.

    No! Don't laugh - this is a genuinely good funky LP!

    Here's my contribution. Strange record this, kind of off-kilter easy LP with parping horns, synth moves. Thought it was the most VG of things I had sitting around.

    Default Let's try this again

    Absolutely no takers for the Ron Savage. So - this is unequivocally a good record. Hugh has reviewed it on this site somewhere.

    Am loathe to give it away actually but I have tons of stuff I want to get through so....

    PS I don't want to spend all night online so I'll answer any PMs tomorrow, most probably.

    Okay, I've nabbed two records from this thread, so here are two I'm offering up in return.

    Steve Mulligan / Steve Franklin / Roy Dodd - Steps. No, not that Steps! The Steps that sounds a bit more like Weather Report.
    For what it's worth, there's one on CD and LP for 25 at the moment. This one's loads cheaper at 0.

    Chris Barber's Travelling Band - Get Rolling
    Probably well known round these parts? Some funky jazz moments. Possibly a break? I might be lying about that bit...
