    Default Bollywood films?

I've listened to a butt-load of the OSTs --- but only seen a couple of the films (and never been blown away by them) which films are worth seeking out? I've seen a couple that have ben recommended to me but have found them long and boring for the most part, are there any that are awesome or mental or both?

    Rep some Bollies!

Sholay - I don't think the music is all that, but the movie is Bolly meets spaghetti western epic. Really enjoyed it.

NB; definitely not mental, but may qualify as awesome dependent on tastes. I fear this may be one of the 'overlong' ones you may have failed to endure ...

I think its prretty standard for them to be three hours long and the last hour to be slow and depressing even if the early part is all car chases, comedy and dance routines.
Enthusiastic vagueness passes for scholarship in the twilight world of the disc-jockey.

I'll check this one out, cheers - although if they are all generally long with loads of dull bits maybe i'll skip them all together... Surely there's some ones that are consistently exciting, or maybe give interesting glimpses into the culture over there at the time?

Don - (the original one from the 70's) is one of the better ones I have seen. ( I am in love with Zeenat Aman, however)
Shalimar - Great plot idea, but gets goofy rather fast
The Great Gambler was okay, and I co-sign on Sholay as well.

    Disclaimer:
*I have yet to see a Bolly film that isn't three hours long and doesn't get slow at some point*
