    Default ESG press question

I have an ESG S/T that I think I want to trade so I wanted to make sure about the pressing. The aging on the cover/sleeve + the stampings lead me to believe it's original/80s, but the label colors have me confused.

I've seen lots of references to 'blue label' originals. But mine has a pink label on side a with the songs listed, and the label on side b is black with a big pink '99' on it. I've only seen one reference to this type of label that mine has. The dead wax does have the right catalog numbers, the EDP in an oval stamp, plus the MASTERDISK stamp with the HW initials under it.

Anyway, if anybody can tell me what pressing this is, Id appreciate the help. Thanks.

I've never seen a 'blue label', only pink. The one you describe sounds the same as mine, which I believe to be an original.

The "You're No Good" EP? Mine has a green label and a black "99". Mine's deffo an original and has the insert advertising the 99 back catalogue. Maybe there are a few different 80s pressings...

Green label..? Yes, the EP with "You're No Good, "Moody" and "UFO" on for starters... US issue, cat. co. 99-04 EP

    Mine's pink.

Looking at my other ESG records, they seem to co-ordinate the colour of the tracklisting label with the colour of the large 99 on the reverse...

Self-titled EP = pink label with pink 99 on flip.
ESG Says Dance EP = yellow label with yellow 99 on flip.
Come Away With ESG LP = black label with white writing, white 99 on flip.

    Mine's pink.

Mines Blue label with silver writing on one side, and this is reversed on the other side so you have a silver label with blue writing.

According to Discogs it should have 'Masterdisk' stamped in the run out groove -

Do the 99 Records releases not have thick cardboard sleeves, with "paste-on" backs? Not that I've got any, mind... in fact, I'd be interested in your copy.

Mine - def. an OG, I bought it when it came out - has a green label, tracklisting on one side, 99 logo on the other. Run out grooves have E.S.G 04 E.P. A and E.P. B etched and masterdisk stamp.
