    Default Free records, incl. some Vulture classics...

    I'm getting rid of about 1,000 LP's and 12's, it'll mostly be going back to the charities from whence much of it came, but thought I'd offer some of it here.

    I'm based in London, so if you want anything here it can be picked up/dropped off anywhere between W1 and E5. I'm quite happy to hold on to anything on the list if anyone wants it sent/picked up/collected at a later date. I'll leave it up until next weekend.

    I've also got quite a lot of 12's (house, 00's hip-hop, breaks and beats, nu-jazz - Tru Thoughts/Catskills type stuff, etc), d'you reckon there'd be much interest here? All free.....

    This batch is VV/VG+ type of stuff, should all be VG+ or better (post any Q's on this thread), most of it you probably already have (or wouldn't want!), but anyway.... here it is;

    The worthwhile stuff (1-trackers & the like)
    Alyn Ainsworth "The Young Generation" (good version of 'Dancing in the moonlight')
    "Focus on Phase 4 Stereo" (label sampler; 'Avengers theme' by Roland Shaw)
    Larry Page Orchestra "Bridge over troubled water" ('Dingo' is a great track, good version of 'Venus', + a couple of others)
    The Hiltonaires "Beatles hits in the Glen Miller sound" (on SGA, not as bad a prospect as it sounds; a nice version of 'Hard day's night' + a couple of jazzy originals)
    Big Jim 'H' "Dance party of Hammond Hits" (excellent 'Jungle Fever' + 'Tank town rider', but no sleeve....)
    Ronnie Aldrich "The Phase 4 world of...." ('Ride my see-saw', beaty twin-piano madness)
    Geoff Love Orch. "Your favourite TV themes" (top version of 'Ironside') GONE
    "Rediffusion Stereo Sampler" (incl. 'Sort of soul' by Birds'n'Brass, 'Alfie' + 'My sweet Lord" by Pete Moore, off 'Best of Bacharach' and 'Lively & Latin' respectively)
    Jose Feliciano "Fireworks" ('Susie-Q' + 'Can't get no satisfaction')
    "Impulsion!" (Circle of Sound sampler, incl. "Theme One" by George Martin & 'The Mosquito' by Roberto Delgado)
    v/a "Easy Listening" (the 2LP one, with 'Daydream' by Gunther Kallman and, I think, an OK Augusto Alguero track?)
    Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons "The very best of...." ('80's comp., incl. 'The Night', and lots of older stuff)
    The Torero Band "Viva Tijuana" ('These boots are made for walking' - freebie from Brit West Indies Airways, same as the LP released on MFP) GONE
    John Williams "Travelling" ('From the top' - funky arrangement of a piece by Bach, nice bass line)
    ELO "Discovery" ('Last Train to London' - quasi disco)

    the rest.....
    Dick Emery "....sings" (not such a good idea. On Marble Arch, prod. by Cyril Stapleton, '70)
    v/a "The BBC presents; Dance Bands on the Air Vol.2" (cat. No. REC 140M)
    "Hits state-side" (on Rediffusion, session versions of then-current US hits, prod. by Bruce Baxter)
    The Groovy Gang "Songs for swinging children" (on Contour, from '71)
    The Waikiki Islanders "Hawaiian Nights" (Studio 2 Stereo, '68)
    New Edition "Sunshine Saturday" ('75, Mike Batt/Lew Warburton production) GONE
    Jack Parnell Orchestra "TV Times record of your top TV themes" (OK version of Hawaii Five-O)
    Cy Payne "Music for a Swinging Children's Party" (Contour, '73 - a bit knackered, but playable)
    Brian Dee "Happy hammond plays all-time great movie themes" (funky-ish version of Jesus Christ Superstar; no sleeve)
    Otto Weiss & his rhythms "Hammond sound party" (Concert Hall, '70-ish?)
    The Graham Dalley Dozen "Sounds International" (on Saga)
    Ray Conniff "Jean" ('Aquarius/Sunshine' & 'spinning Wheel') Bert Kaempfert "Now and Forever" (polydor '82)
    "Great Hits of the 70's Moog style" (Contour, 74)
    The Powerpack Orchestra "Favourite Sports Themes" (on MFP)
    "Romantic Moog" (Contour, 74)
    Ray McVay "Come dancing with...."
    Francis Lai "A man, a woman, a love story" (early '80's comp)
    "Hammond a Go-Go" (Capriola, late '70's) GONE
    Herb Alpert & Tijuana Brass "What now my love" (mono)
    Jack Parnell Big Band Show "s/t" (A TV Times presentation on MFP, '76, big band jazz standards)
    John Dales "Latin Hammond" (on AD-Rythm, '70) GONE
    "1930-1935 Stereo Hammond Organ" (Regal)
    "Hammond fever" (Deacon, '71, nice versions of 'Light my fire' and 'He ain't heavy...', was also issued as one half of a double album called something like 'help yourself to hammond')
    Keith Beckingham "Million Sellers Vol.1" (on AD-Rhythm) GONE
    Brian Dee "Lowery Organ Love Story" (on AD-Rhythm) GONE
    Gus Clark "Hammond for dancing" (Ariola, from '70ish) GONE
    Peter Hayward plays the Baldwin Overture "Overture" (LP advertising the Baldwin Overture, from '81)
    Len Rawle plays Yamaha "Think of a sound" (demonstration LP, from '80)
    Brian Sharp "The orchestral sound of..." (organ LP, from about '80)
    Gunther Kallmann Choir "Wish me a rainbow" (polydor, '66)
    Johnny Pearson "Sleepy shores" (Zzzzz....)
    Pops Symphonic "Concert Favorites" (Classical/pop crossover from '75...)
    Electrophon "Further thoughts on the classics" (classical/pop crossover, polydor, '75) GONE
    Roy Jevons "Hammond Supersonics" (on AD-Rhythm, the one with Concorde on the cover) GONE
    Ron Goodwin "This is...." (studio 2 Stereo)
    "Golden Trumpets 16 great trumpet hits" (on Boulevard...)
    Pepe Jaramillo "Mexican Voodoo" (Studio 2 Stereo, must have predated the Trades Description Act...)
    Living Strings plus organ "Ebb tide" (easy strings, on RCA, from '69) GONE
    Raymond Lefevre ""...and his orchestra" (on MajorMinor, '67)

    Top of the Pops type stuff
    "The best of Top of the Pops '78"
    "Pye Chartbusters Vol.2" GONE
    "Hot Hits XIII" (the one with the Olympic cover - versions of 'Popcorn' & 'Silver Machine') GONE

    Advertising
    "Courage Party Time" (comp from '70) GONE

    If you have the time to post them up, I wouldn't mind perusing your nu jazz bits.

    Even I agree, that that is a terrible waste of vinyl. The 1973 record also called 'Dick Emery Sings' is a comedy record in the truest sense and contains songs by his comic TV characters. It took me about three years and many wasted hours and pounds to find a copy.

    All of which is a round about way of saying I'll have any leftover Geoff Love if it's going please!

    Can I have the "Hot Hits 13" (for "Popcorn" obviously) as it's one of a couple I still need to complete the set and the Electrophon LP (for the Doctor Who connection) please?

    I'd be interested in seeing what house 12s you have on offer. Would want to reimburse on some level though...

    Were you still looking for the JJ FAD album? I picked it up in a chazzer for you a few months ago and meant to ask if you'd got one.

    Well....! I'm very glad that there's been some interest! Plenty more still to come......

    Regarding the 12" stuff (beats/breaks/house/nu-jazz), I haven't even started pulling that stuff out and only wanted to see if there'd be any interest. Looks like there is, so I'll start putting a list together. D'n'B happened to coincide with my CD buying phase, so I *think* that side of things isn't well represented in my collection of vinyl. I'll have a look and see what I find. As for Hip hop, it's likely to be mainly some UK stuff that I'd be shedding (Zebra Traffic, Ninja Tune, etc). Again, I'm simply not sure exactly what I've got, so I'll see about making a list.

    As for this list.....

    They're all yours. Just checking condition, they're all a strong VG+ or better, though there's a non-audible mark on side 1 of the 'Living Strings' album, and a couple of similar marks on the Gus Clark. I said that the Torero LP was a BWIA freebie but it's actually from BOAC, and it's on 'International Hits Series (London)' records.

    The Raymond Lefevre is a common one; picture of a blonde woman looking into the camera while tossing her hair in the air (Cat. MMLP4, 'Whiter shade of pale, etc).

    Ian;
    They're yours. Vinyl is VG+, the sleeve of the Beckingham is a little wavy from having got damp at some stage, slight damp staining on the reverse near the spine.

    Agnes;
    Geoff Love is yours. That version of Ironside is great. Think I also have the one with the Jason King theme on it if you'd want it.

    JGBollard;
    What other HH's are you after? I've got them all, and have a few spares. I wasn't aware of the Dr. Who connection re; the Electrophon LP. Vinyl looks NM, can't even see a spindle mark (though I've definitely played it once), the LP has been stored somewhere damp at some stage and the front cover has gone slightly wavy near the opening.

    Jahshabby;
    Was it the 'Wish me a rainbow' LP you wanted, or the 'Easy Listening' 2LP with Daydream on it? Both available, 'Rainbow' is VG plus, the 2LP is NM.

    I'm planning on going to the Brillo, so I can bring them for anyone else who's going.

    Beats and breaks people (djvw, eric, knitwear, recycled); give me a couple of weeks and I'll post something!

    I need Hot Hits 7, 17 and 18 then I've got the lot, if you can spare decent copies that would be great. The condition sounds fine re the Electronphon LP. A couple of tracks from the Electrophon LP turn up on the soundtrack of the Tom Baker story "Robots of Death"

    Thanks for the offer. I'm just waiting for SlippedDisc to get back to me over his spare Hot Hits and if he hasn't got one then yes, most definitely. Not sure what I could return trade for it though.
