Here's a Quebecois/Frenchy Book/45/Pic sleeve of sorts for kids with a spaced out disco jam hidden in the back page. Which I retrieved from the delta quadrant thrift store (you know the one, back of woolies), near venus.

    Sounds like this:

I'm not really fan of 45, but if you need details for something - I'll try to give.

Been meaning to contribute to this thread for ages. Tried not to snap any doubles, but did it from memory, excuse me if I have!

It gets a bit childrens/ethno/out there towards the end - many of which garnered in trade by forum members, especially gogo!

    From my Spanish box:

I bought these ones from shops/internet.

These ones were found in the wild in Spain.

And the following lot were found in the wild in the UK.

Nice stuff Carlos. I'm going to put mine up when I get hold of a camera.

Los Compact, Internacional Conjunto Clásico-moderno, were active at Hotel Nixe Palace in Palma De Mallorca in 1965. Sorry, no more information I could grasp, but you can listen to their classic "Came At The Nixe" which is included in Carlitos' Xmas Swap 2010.

Anitsa Y Las Vegas were torturing audiences at Hotel Nautilus Night Club, in Tenerife, during 1968. I have bought a fair amount of hotel-related times in my time and this one is the worse one of all of them. Unbelievable bad singing that has to be heard to be believed. When I connect the computer to the decks I will record a sound clip.

I already did - it's odd but rather good, I recall.

Never been to Bajamar in Tenerife, and sadly it looks like the Nautilus no longer exists. Here's an old postcard, though.
I wouldn't really care how shit the band were if I was staying there.

I can't seem to be able to edit my post so I wanted to add that the Beach House you see is actually part of Hotel Nautilus.

The rest of the songs of Los Compact are the usual middle of the road covers, no gas there. Their own song is a bit strange but nixe.

Dug out some of mine at the weekend. Mostly Spanish, with some Scandinavian, French and German stuff.

Rumba stuff - Las Grecas rather more fuzzed-up than the rest. I like Amina, and Jazz Arabi is a promising title. Shame about the song.

More rumba stuff. Los Amaya do Christmas carols. Los Chorbos b-side is brilliant.

Encarn(it)a Polo does best version of Hava Nagila I've heard. Este Señor is a TV theme. Both are arranged by her hubbie Adolfo Waitzman. Cipriani has a great b-side called Pegy that doesn't google at all. Anabalina is my favourite Grecas tune.

Water-damaged Vainica Doble Refranes and well-worn BB Muñoz from junk shop in Vigo. Waitzman in centre is killer double sider.

Exposed is Bernt Egerbladhs soft porn OST unearthed in junk shop here. German pic sleeve of Notts punk-funkers Medium Medium

Elsa Baeza does smooth funky latin version of Cuando Llegare, Mary Afi is OK afro-pop from Italy, Hamburg sex bomb Laya Raki looks great if Sophia Loren is a bit too skinny for you, but the song is pretty rubbish smut. Dansevisa rules.

Ritmo Cubano ep is brilliant stuff by Frank Emilio Flynn's quintet, Ali is three Arabic-styled instru¡umentals and a Fairuz song.

charles Williams is Finnish reissue of great lp-only track; Tom Brock and Gene Page are the best Barry-White-related intros ever; Joe Quarterman is knackered, but still nice to know that a pic sleeve exists.

I just nabbed that off the evilbays after hearing it on Vampisoul's "Chicas!" comp. Great version, although I think Irv Goodman's cheeky go-go rendition trumps it.

You're almost surely right. When I said "best version of Hava Nagila I've heard", I admit I wasn't speaking as an expert on Hava Nagila covers.

If anyone can suggest something better than imageshack as half the time my rotations save but a lot of the time they aren't even though I do the same thing so its kinda frustrating.

My neck hurts, but good to see you got yourself an Esther Galil! (It was you who asked about it at Crippens right?)

I've switched to uploading pics to divshare now, works better than imageshack which has been a major pain lately.
