Composed by John Shakespeare for a BEA advertising campaign, and allegedly arranged by Quincy Jones, though I'd be surprised if Quince was even in the same country when this was made. Kenny Clare on drums, too!

More Varig. This one's polite trio bossa standards, but the package is great - pic disc, gatefold, photos of guys fixing engines.
That one won't be flying anywhere when you can find it for a tenner elsewhere, though. .

Just got one from the postie yesterday by Tomorrow's Children. Reggae/rocksteady with some psychy elements. Issued by London in association with Pan Am.
Enthusiastic vagueness passes for scholarship in the twilight world of the disc-jockey.
John Peel
Concorde. Not sure if this one was officially sanctioned, but it's great nonetheless.

Balkan Airlines - I know 3 of them.

Were these handed out in-flight to jetsetters, given away as promos at travel fairs or sold in shops?
I read somewhere that the Varig ones were freebies for travellers.

Good looking blog too, probably up Babycart's street
Attention!!! I know this is a very expensive Price for the record. This i one of my most beloved Records, so my primary intention isn't the selling. I like it in my collection. I only will sell it, if someone wants it that much, that he is willing to pay that much money. Therefore the unrealistic price. Please don't tell me about it. I don't want to cheat ,I don't force someone into buying it, I don't want to drive up the price. Thanks for understanding

This one was released with supported from DLR (The German Space Agency or something along those lines):

MADY MESPLE & DANIELLE MILLER : Flower Duet
This was used to advertise British Airways and it was also used to great
effect in David Bowie’s middling vampire movie The Hunger in 1983.
John & Joan Shakespeare : Number One Theme
This tune was specially composed by the husband and wife duo as a commercial
for long defunct BEA Airways. The B side Fade Out was the title music for the
Stanley Baker film of the same name and both sides were arranged by Quincy Jones.
Decca ~ 1969

Pan Am sued Silver apples and Kapp Records for using their plane on the cover of Contact. Does that count?

My understanding is that the band got permission from Pan Am to shoot the photo for the front cover on the provision that the airline got a "thank you" credit on the finished LP (which they did)
Unfortunately no one at Kapp Records saw fit to tell Pan Am about the planned rear cover of the band sat among the apparent wreckage from a plan crash, and upon seeing the finished item Pan Am took umbrage and threatened to sue the label for defamation or some such.
Talking of Pan Am, I found this a few weeks ago but didn't buy it as the LP had a big chunk missing out of it.

I own a copy of this rather so-so record -
which was issued to promote BOAC's 'Polaroute' over the North Pole direct from London to Tokyo and on to Osaka.
Staying on a Japanese theme, my favourite airline related records must be this brace from Yoshinori Sunahara
and
both released in the late nineties. Both heavily reflect Sunahara's well-known obsession with planes and airports and sample widely from the airline record idiom. A collector of airline memorabilia, he allegedly spent bucketloads when Pan-Am had a big clearout auction around that time.
