When taking the dog for his last poop of the day I found this lot on the pavement next to the closing down video shop

I took all the reggae (2 12") and some Hip Hop (Roots Manuva and that sort of thing). The majority of it was housey dancey type stuff I just didn't know. I told my son about it and he went down for a rake too and when I passed the shop first thing this morning there was not a trace of it. I suspect I'll be looking through it again at the booter this weekend!

There is not a speck of dust on the bag, the records look brand new and do not appear to have been removed from the bag or played at all.

    Odd!

My apologies for image repetition, but I wanted to put these three together in one post to create the perfect storm of VG+ finds posts. I love reading this forum!

LP above BDB is the Cyril Stapleton LP with Twiggy on the front...or a twiggy look-a-like. It has Persuaders and lots of tv movie chuff on. Not listened to it yet.

I'm tempted to dress up in '73 garb and stagger around with the bag of records where Woolies used to be looking confused and asking 'Where Am I? What year is this? What have they done!'
I have a very particular set of skills...

Back from 2 charities in another smalltown... don't laugh too much...

I shall return should anything here be worth keeping... listening to the Ramsey Lewis now and trio with piano is not my cup of jazz but for being that it's actually quite enjoyable and may be a keeper... there are always exceptions to the rules.

It's xian disco - 2 sidelong tracks. I'm not so fond of disco.

The Swedish gospel jazz band does a good version of the Rocky theme with moog and according to the insert had a hamburger named after them:

And apparently also released a 7 with a tribute to the local football team BK Forward called "Full fart framåt BK Forward (kosmisk korvsoppa)" which would translate to "Full speed ahead BK Forward (cosmic sausage-soup)". Wtf??

Kinda, but more like the illegitimate child of Justin Bieber and a young Diana Ross.

Pre-Crillo Copenhagen finds (or Why did I bring records to spin when I could've gotten enough cheap jazz to spin on my way to the venue?). All of the below between £1 and £22 - most of them very cheap.

Haven't listened to all of them yet of course but:

John Handy - Recorded live at the Monterey Jazz Festival
With a hat like that in my experience it's either gonna be an unlistenable freeform honk-fest (for example Sun Ra at his most abstract which is too much for me to handle) or an amazing spriritual recording (like Pharoah, Leon Thomas or Sun Ra at his best). This is very good - quite free sax and violin over more or less a constan groove in two sidelong tracks.

    Cornelis Vreeswijk - Jazz Incorporated
The hardest Cornelis to find. Live in Norway 1979 backed up by a jazz band including Sture Nordin and Egil Johansen. Cornelis ditties and ballads work very well in the context - it's bluesy but occassionaly moves out into a bit of experimentation. While I appreciate the previous owner having taken the time to research the members of the jazz band and writing it down I wish he had done so on a separate piece of paper and stuck it in the sleeve like a homemade insert instead of writing it on the sleeve and using lots of whiteout to correct all his mistakes - but then, it cost me next to nothing so I can't really complain.

    Hadley Caliman - S/T
    Some kinda jazz on Mainstream.

Taiguara - Imyra, Tayra, Ipy, Taiguara
This is very cool. Brazilian stuff, quite theatrical (I'm sensing some kinda theme record here but can't understand) that goes beyond bossa and mixes it up with orchestral parts, jazz and some pure avantgarde experimental bits.

    V/A - Jazz -65
Melodiya comp of young jazz orchestras. Could've been a killer and has some nice tracks but it's too straight for my taste and some parts just sound like exact ripoffs on Blue Note Herbie Hancock et al.

Whitehouse - Cream of the Second Coming
Insane and offensive power electronics. The only thing I couldn't have played out even if it was tempting to torture the casual passers-by.

Charlie Haden - Liberation Music Orchestra
Jazz theme record dealing with the Spanish Civil War - so Spanish folksongs/protest songs meet jazz. Unfortunately a later pressing on Jasmin but the discount I got in the shop was greater than the price of this record.

    Dollar Brand - The Journey
Free jazz. Don Cherry appears. Listened a little bit in shop and sounded like it had enough structure to be to my liking.

Paul Horn - Alturo do Sol - (High Sun)
Recently found a very good Egberto Gismonti record (incidentally in another shop in Copenhagen) and here he is again collaborating with Paul Horn. Not listened at all - record so cheap I decided it was just a matter of buying and bringing home to save time for looking in more crates after more records.

Caetano Veloso & Chico Buarque ‎– Juntos E Ao Vivo
    1972 tropicalia.

    Eddie Henderson - Inside Out
Band includes Herbie Hancock and Patrick Gleeson. I've been thinking (half-heartedly) to collect all jazz record Patrick Gleeson supplied moog sounds to, because I've yet to hear a bad one.

    Jeremy Steig - Legworks
Another want crossed off the list. Fantastic funky and groovy flute jazz as sample by Beastie Boys.

Loving Sie's man versus food record sandwich posts ! I want to go digging U.S style for the junk food. Tom come round soon with some Brazil records.

Had come in today Tone float Rca orig plus medium rare prog stuff, complete run of Keef Hartley minty amongst other blues rock type stuff, Alexis Korner R &B, Impressions lp's etc on Stateside soul type motown stuff x 70, 2 x Electric Ladyland on track, one scatched one not, more Beatles than i could ever hope to sell, 270 x rock fodder Zeppelin, floyd, The Doors type stuff. Just today.

Literally cannot deal with the amount,l despite having a kindly helper for every day of the week, not complaining just don't have any spare time and looking on here has become a luxury.

    I do miss this site.

We miss you too Peter Sundae. If you get some nice minty Judas Priest lps pass them on to me please.
Attention!!! I know this is a very expensive Price for the record. This i one of my most beloved Records, so my primary intention isn't the selling. I like it in my collection. I only will sell it, if someone wants it that much, that he is willing to pay that much money. Therefore the unrealistic price. Please don't tell me about it. I don't want to cheat ,I don't force someone into buying it, I don't want to drive up the price. Thanks for understanding

What's the deal with that Les Humphries?

I never bothered with his after pulling one dud 15+ years ago...

I know there's supposed to be one funky and good one - all I remember is I made I mental note that one excluded all mentions of "singers", "chorus" and was therefore maybe all instros...
