    Nice Zoo!

And Gogo: probably nice finds - just don't know anything about them... gonna have to dig harder in the Eastern Bloc stuff (minus Poland that I already have a good hang of).

    My finds:

Tadeusz Wozniak unfortunatley a bit crackly. Nice prog with a folksy touch.

Terry Plumeri - jazz is so hard to describe but think the sound of Bitches Brew minus the horns and on one hand more freejazz and the other more funk. Great record.

Some Random digging digging pictures of last week ...

Any Records moved in The Hague to a new location. Found nothing as usual at that place .

Did find a few good records at various cheap spots , here we go:

Vince Wallace Live at the studio cafe ... Some private jazz release I never thought I would find in the Netherlands, yes seen it before on a blog, late 70s but with good tracks and even a dancer called 'Rainclouds Over Coltrane Valley'
Telex Looking For Saint Tropez ... Telex was formed as an all-electronic disco pop band in 1978 by radio DJ/jazz musician Marc Moulin, programmer/sound engineer Dan Lacksman and vocalist Michel Moers. If you're into early 80s Synthpop you will like this, contains the classic Moskow Diskow.

Plant Lifelong guarentee ... Dutch funk record, took me a long time to find me a clean copy. Really love the cover musically it got a few good moments, Steady Rollin' is the track.
George Benson The Other Side of Abbey Road ... Actually I don't know why I haven't bought this before, this rocks ... Someone posted it recently on the forum thanks for that.

the 13th Floor Elevators ST ... Doesn't need an introduction, 1978 UK release on Radarscope from this Texas psychband.
Soundtrack Dance with a stranger ... Haven't listened to this proper, jazzy feel with dialog throughout the whole record.

Jackie McLean Strange Blues ... Blue labeled Prestige, just a fine album to play late night with a good glass of wine.
Bobbi Hunphrey Blacks and Blues ... Classic Blue Note, last Humphrey I needed from here Blue Note sessions. Probably here strongest at least funkiest.

Bob Downes Deep Down Heavy ... Cheap (MFP) way to get a Psych record, heavy Black Sabbath like tracks with horns
Soundtrack How the west was won

Stomu Yamashta Go Too ... Upgrade copy of a good Fusion album
Larry Coryell The Lion and the Ram ... Expected more of this mostly acoustic, not bad but hoped on something better

Velvet Underground Andy Warhol ... Upgrade copy
Tchaikovsky Pathetique ... What are to odds you run into one of the earliest Decca SXL's (SXL 2004).

Had too buy this ethnic record because of the cover Meet the Maori
Soundtrack 5 van de 4 daagse ... One of the hardest to find Dutch soundtrack, first time I found myself a clean copy for €1, found it once before but that was VG (good enough for sampling not for listening pleasure), I'm happy!

That's it for this week ...

Slim Pickings in Edinburgh as usual and I've not been getting out and about as much due to working being pretty full on at the moment.

45s - *warning* NONE of these little 'uns were found locally or even handled physically prior to receipt - please look away if this offends you...

Mod-tastic B side on this averagely pop A sider

    Strange Circus themed psychdancer!

    lovely garage two sider

Nice mod pop 45 - not as good as the Bobby Trend version but hey ho!

    Good Day

    Funky psych PP

Sea Dogs - I'll Be There

Swedish (?) fuzzy garage - I want the other one too now!

Classic UK psych band do twisted pop shocker!

I've had the Beacon comp for years - it was time to get serious on some of the tunes - John Fitch next!

Euro release of US folk rock psych band - couple of great tunes on here but 'Up So High' is the...erm...highlight.

    LPs to follow later.

    Today:

    The Arrows
Seriously psychedelic biker fuzz instros. A couple of pretty amazing trippy tracks here.

Rest only needledropped in shop so far, but vaguely:

    Don Crawford
Got some Richie Havens vibes from this one.

    Bob Ray
Appears to move in the folk/ssw/soft rock area... mainly mellow.

    James Vincent
Oddity - bluesy with eerie guitar sound and weird electronics...

    I may elaborate later.

Have you got the Os Brazoes LP? It's like Liverpool's more upbeat cousin, very similar sound/production on it to my ears...
Its definitely similar, Brazoes cover two tracks from Liverpool Planador and tao longe de mim. Personally I prefer liverpool but that could be because I don't own a copy of it.
Maybe I should sell a load of one tracker LP's to aquire the funds to buy it.

Nice find on the Arrows lp Mattias. It's great but I only have a shameful reissue. I had to grit my teeth and grin when Fuz found a copy when we were digging together. Worth having for the title track alone IMHO.

LP round - now most of these were real world finds!

Les McCann is a simply awesome funky electronic Jazz LP and it's a spare.
Side Show is kind of late lysergic country tinged rock - enjoying it!
Wilbert Harrison - gritty and (in parts) funky!
Lowell Fulsom - funky 'Tramp' rewrites and a killer take on 'Funky Broadway' - spare
    Prince Buster - flippin' marvelous!
Paul Mitchell Trio - soul jazz PP - what's this doing in an EH charity? Couple of the originals on here are nice!
Buckinghams - as bunged up by Mr Sayers - great garage LP!
Polnareff - another unlikely Edinburgh charity find! A mixed bag but enough good stuff for it to be kept.
Laurie Johnson - not played yet and not expecting too much

People - a bit rough so it was a freebie - funky horn rock.
The Living Sound - Xian stuff - one redeeming track
Savage Resurrection - friggin' killer hard psych

Country Joe - a local charity had a whole clutch of the later fish LPs so a quick bit of spotify research (at home - not on the phone) and I went back for this one - theres a great funky track lurking on it!
Blue Cheer - heavy but not their best.
Whitney Sunday - heavy and funky horn rock
Hollies - just amazing - lovely minty copy too - wasn't cheap but was well worth it.
Noir - Many thanks to top fella Ben V! I'll be in touch this week mate. Side 2 on this LP is just amazing!
Dick Hyman - not as funky as 'age..' but still holds the attention.

a few spares here - shout if you need Pryde, Specials, Valiant Orch or Labi.
    Banjo fun for Fuz
At the last fair Steven had some great jazz stuff either well cheap of in the £1 box - hence the quincy, McDuff, Smith etc..

All this from the £1 bins too - 2 generations, Prado and Zack are spares - again shout if you need! One of the Jimmys and the Buddy were spares but they've gone daddy gone.
THat Chicken Shack LP is great by the way...and I thought I didn't like them! Funky Groovy electric blues based stuff - very good!

Plenty of great suff there Lee mate, would love a copy of that 'Savage Resurrection'!

Pleased your liking the 'Buckinghams', I love it, it's a garage recorded I never hear getting repped that often which is a bit odd as it's great!

Quite pleased with this weekend's haul - let's start at the market on Friday...

Ernest Wilson "Another Chance / Private Number" (Crab) - loving this, great track..!
Prince Buster "4 And 1 Medley / Drums, Drums, Drums" (Prince Buster Records)

Jah Walters "Gourmandizer / Mandizer Rock" (Joe Gibbs) - great track with more than a passing resemblance to Dillinger's "Ragnampiza"...
Pablove Black "Push Pull / Dub Rock" (Studio 1) - great dub, new to these ears...

Anyone here recognise the sticker on the Pablove Black 45..?

    Now, the albums and twelves...

Various Artists "Crab's Biggest Hits" (Crab) - high quality reggae/ska compilation on Pama offshoot.
Sun Ra "Cosmic Tones For Mental Therapy" (Thoth) - my first dabble into Sun Ra's cosmic world. Enjoying "Moon Dance".

Mantronix 12" for the trades pile - you all know "King Of The Beats" - legendary track.
Yma Sumac "Miracles" (London) - Les Baxter produced fuzzy trippy beaty throaty madness.

Sunday - plenty of early morning sunshine and plenty of records to look through..!

First up - a couple of really decent lovers rock/early 80's reggae 12"s. A quid for the pair, look at those sleeves - couldn't leave them. The flipside of the Sonia Ferguson track is "Runaway Rockers" and is a worthy dub cut. The other is "It's True" by Donna Rhoden backed with a dub from the Santic Allstars.

... and five records for the trades pile. All in EX condition.

... LDJB wasn't the only 'plusser to find a Labi Siffre at the booter this weekend..!

A track titled Drums drums drums has me intrigued, any good ?

Was it a proper market stall record dealer or an antique market with a few records ?

It's the dub side of the Prince Buster cut with a bit more percussion. Not as exciting as I'd hoped (especially as that was the first label I saw when I picked up the record).

It's a flea/antique market plus there are a couple of guys that'll bring along a box or two of records along with the antiquities

Oh and I also found a couple of record totes - mid 60's vintage - that I'll post up in the Record Wallets thread once I've given them a clean...

Needed a fix and luckily got a tip about a sale with leftover records for 0.33 Euros each.
These turned out to be the most fun of the pile I brought home:

The last track is mad drum fills all the way through. Aside from that there are three tracks without vocals and one track with that are killers. Here's one of them:

mate, rocking the Armenians - great touch of roughness to it. top score. is it all live?

It's really not that great IMO. The first and last tracks (first especially) are killers but the rest seem to get a little repetitive. Worth a few pounds/euros/dollars but don't pay big bucks.

If you're interested there are a few reissues out there, with the recent USA LP and the old OOP but still findable for reasonable money "Yma Rocks" CD both definitely legit.
