Yesterday I watched "Zombie Flesh Eaters 2" (as it was known in the UK, aka Zombi 3) and boy! is that film a stinker. Pooh!

i loved them both. love post-apocalyptic movies in general.
just watched "hell" from 2011, a swiss-german coproduction which is kind of a poor-mans "the road"-"28 days later" minus the zombies but with a bit of cannibalism thrown in. beautifully filmed with a dodgy last half-hour. anyway, i recommend it.

edit: this is not zombie related at all.

Is that the Dudes in combats in a jeep in the Philipinnes vs Blue Man Group one? I find the endless variations on the same names very confusing.

Or is it the "etruscan bruial rites" and creepy 40 year old man-child one....cos while that has a terrible plot and poor characterisation I love it?

    Was ZFE 2 / Zombi 3 Fulci's own sequel?
And was there a Zombi 1 or a prequel to ZFE / Zombi 2?

I get confused by these different titles and numbers...

Fulci's "Zombie Flesh Eaters" was also called Zombi 2 in some countries as it was labelled as a follow-on from Romero's Dawn...

Zombie Flash Eaters 2 (aka Zombi 3) was started by Fulci but, due to ill health, finished and edited by others.

Didn't Andrea Bianchi make a zombie movie??

Not much time, browsed a bit and couldn't find it - did however find this later Bianchi output:

Is it just me or does it look like two men with quite different passions??

Yep. Rubbish - although at points the Zombies are mega ferocious and fast moving, there's a particularly brutal rampage in a shed as i remember...

Nope - that's "Burial Ground". I like that one a lot. Creepy 12 year old (played by 30 year old) bites mum's boob off: OOF!

Yeah, "Dawn of the Dead" was known as "Zombie" in Europe.

Finished by Bruno Mattei no less, a true auteur.

The one I was on about is sometimes called Zombie 3 to really confuse matter sbut also Burial Ground or Notti De Terrore. Whether it was ever released as Nights of Terror I dunno.

It did get a release as "night of Terror", also "the zombie Dead". Easy to grab for about 10p on amazon if anyone needs a copy.

Edit: look at this awesome poster!

Yes, this is a good one, totally ott, with all the right bits in the right place. And the obnoxious teens get munched too, wahey!
Attention!!! I know this is a very expensive Price for the record. This i one of my most beloved Records, so my primary intention isn't the selling. I like it in my collection. I only will sell it, if someone wants it that much, that he is willing to pay that much money. Therefore the unrealistic price. Please don't tell me about it. I don't want to cheat ,I don't force someone into buying it, I don't want to drive up the price. Thanks for understanding

The Romero and Fulci films will always be at the top of the canon, DOD and ZFE are perfect films for me. Both struck a chord when i saw them in my early teens that i haven't been able to shake since.

I just wrote a long post stating a bunch of my favourites with mini reviews, but then firefox went weird and i lost it. Haven't got time to retype it, but here's a rundown:

GRAPES OF DEATH (Jean Rollin, 1978) - slow, arty, beautifully shot and hypnagogic
DEAD NEXT DOOR (JR Bookwalter, 1986) - low budget, gore-filled 80's epic
REC (Jaume Balagueró, 2007) - defo the best modern Zombie Film IMO
HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD (Bruno Matei, 1980) - Mattei is a master of insane B-movie crap. This is my favourite of his.
RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD (Dan O Bannon, 1986) - didn't he write Alien? The first tounge in cheek one? Loads of fun.

    Some notable Italo B-movie zombies:
NIGHTMARE CITY, ZOMBIE HOLOCAUST, ZOMBIE 3, BURIAL GROUND ...
I agree on REC - the original Spanish one - simple and effective stuff
    Dellamorte Dellamore - another vote
Cannibal Apocalypse - Vietnam vet brings back an infection - interesting
Evil Dead - obvious and not quite 'zombie' - but good undead action of course
Night of the Comet (84) - combines Day of the Triffid inspired wipeout with kids versus zombie action - different and fun
White Zombie (32) - the first -and actually pretty good zombie film
The Walking Dead (30s) - kind of a zombie version of frankenstein with Karloff
I Walked with a Zombie (43) - My favourite of the oldies and supposedly loosely based on Jane Eyre - do watch this one if you haven't caught it yet!

...also I did enjoy the running zombies of the Dawn of the Dead remake...

and - I really enjoyed Versus (2000) - the weird Japanese martial arts meets zombie film - crazy stuff - and funny too.

Wondering which film has the most visually imaginative and interesting depiction of judgement day and the actual gates of hell opening? Besides Ghostbusters of course...

The end of The Beyond is a bit of a minimal one, but that's what makes it so scary.
