Thread: Stefano Torossi "Feelings" reissue...quality?

    Default Stefano Torossi "Feelings" reissue...quality?

Anyone picked up that new (-ish?) reissue of Stefani Torrossi "Feelings" LP? Just wondering what the quality is like, taken from master tapes or an LP??

Ordered a copy, but still don't have it. I have the easy tempo reissue, so i'll be able to compare, at the least the audio quality.

One arrived here this week for review for Record Collector. Looks absolutely terrible. You can barely read the title, all the colour contrasts are wrong. Terrifying.

These are from the July releases thread. Is this what your record for review looks like?
The title was always a little tricky to read I thought.

Cheers...will leave that one well alone then...never understand why people go to the trouble of pressing something and are then happy to let it go out looking like a colour photocopy, can't be that hard to get it scanned/printed properly surely? Doesn't exactly inspire confidence in it being properly pressed/licensed etc...

Haha, and I 've now just checked the picture above of the rear sleeve which says it's licensed and also thanks someone for the graphics work!!

yes, the back is fine, front is bordering on illegible. And for the current price (people paying £50 already) you may as well hang out for a Conroy. Or not bother at all.

There was a guy knocking em out on eBay a few days ago. Seller from Portugal. I got one for £15. the front looks a little bit dodgy but for £15 you can't really argue, can you? Killer Library!

Sounds fine to me but I've got nothing to compare it to as it's the first time I've heard it!

Never mind the dodgy front sleeve, the labels are worse.

To my ears sound is great. Antonio Barreiros from Golden Pavillion Records says it has been remastered in Belgium in Final Step Studios. The cover is what you see above, lacking definition, possibly the photo wasn't taken from the original negatives.

Yes and he confirmed to me that they had access to the original Carousel masters, so that is good news, i think. Still waiting for my copy though...

I like that cover - severe sunburn amid loads of nasty bracken brings back childhood memories.

The Easy Tempo version sounds good, but it sounds like it's taken off a record. If the reissue above is true that it's off tapes, I'd go with the tapes version.

Just listening to "having fun" and it seems to me that the electric piano is muffled (compared to the clear sound of the guitar and the drums) is this due to the remastering or the original recording issue?
