It has a moog groove track and an exotic zitar track, both are a little groovy.

haven't posted anything for a while but seeing as I scored a nice bag of 7s today:

Willis Jackson, Swivel Hips Pts 1&2 (Prestige)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxujbgpDdzA

Rusty Bryant, Soul Liberation Pts 1&2 (Prestige)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bftmDnSG98A

Blue Mitchell, H.N.I.C Pts 1&2, (Blue Note)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fj65eAQvQuw

    Thundermama, Thundermama/ Smackwater Jack (Marina)
only S Jack on youtube, but I rather fancy the belter on the A-side, big beat RnB.

playing out tomorrow night and it's always nice to have something new to spin. even better if it doesn't rain.

I'm with the kids in Gouda (Dutch capitol of Cheese). They wanted to go the toy-shop, I visited the local "music shop". They had twenty 2nd hand records all priced €21.95. Dire Straits, Supertramp, War of the Worlds, etc.

And this, UK original with insert, looks an EX copy, can't wait to check that ...

Edit: the record sound NM too.

A couple of long term wants at very decent prices

Country funk Xian from The Apostles - "That's The Way Of The Lord" is a track which just blows me away. Tracks vary from funk to folk but lovely musical arrangements throughout.

Don't need to say much about this - gorgeous.

Forgive me VG+ for I have sinned... the top row were not found in the wild but in the virtual world as realtively cheap punts on an auction site. The bottom row are from proper shop though.

Albert Mangelsdorff - Now, Jazz Ramwong
Trombone jazz from 1964. Bit too early but pretty nice. May not be a keeper in the long run.

Bob Thiele And His New Happy Times Orchestra - Light my Fire
Also starring Gabor Szabo With California Dreamers, Tom Scott and Bill Plummer – the latter on sitar. Jazz in a kind of big band style with some grooviness. Not as good as it could have been but has a couple of very nice tracks.

Steve Marcus - Tomorrow Never Knows
This was great - somehow manages to be both pop-jazz and avantgarde/freejazz at the same time.

Tomasz Stanko (and others) - Freelectronic
Mid 80s avantgarde jazz. Bit of Bitches Brew sound, quite a lot of weird electronics and theatrical spoken words and stuff. Doesn't sound too 80s either but rather mid 70s.

War - The World is a Ghetto
    Four Rooms,

    Cosmology - S/T
Souljazzrock hybrid of some sort. Very good. Lots of electric piano and bits of sitar. Highly recommended.

You need the CBS German issue of that. It's got several different tracks on.

Sorry to thread jack, but can anyone confirm that the Amiga issue came out in 1964 with the CBS and Pacific Jazz ones? It's got the same track listing as the CBS release but is a lot easier to get...
it's OK to head out for wonderful, but on your way to wonderful, you're gonna have to pass through all right. When you get to all right,
take a good look around and get used to it, because that may be as far as you're gonna go.

Yes - I did some research pre-bidding and concluded this as well... Much more interesting track titles on the other issue:

    Compare:

    The one I bought:
    A1 Now Jazz Ramwong
    A2 Blue Fanfare
    A3 Ballad For Jessica Rose
    B1 Es Sungen Drei Engel
    B2 Club Trois
    B3 Blues Du Domocile
B4 Three Jazz Moods On "Theme From Pater Panchali"
    B5 Set ´Em Up

    The other one:

    A1 Now Jazz Ramwong
    A2 Sakura Waltz
    A3 Blue Fanfare
    B1 Three Jazz Moods
    B2 Burungkaka
    B3 Raknash
    B4 Theme From Vietnam
    B5 Es Sungen Drei Engel

And - according to discogs the Amiga is the same as the German CBS....

Got some very great jazz last weekend:

All originals, except for the Oscar Pettiford which is a compilation and the Basso-Valdambrini, which is a US pressing.

Quick LP round up - all from charity shops except the Mothers which was from a market stall for cheap

Everyones favourite shoegazing chums - Ride - here's Like a Daydream

    Laid back Jimmy Reed

Chuffed to nab the Derrick Morgan!!

Also chuffed to find a spare Go-go London in the wild - my 'filed' copy came from a collection - I think this LP is genuinely rare and it has a couple of great tracks on it - see my wee write up and sound clips here:

    http://www.verygoodplus.co.uk/showth...lassics!/page3

Arctic Monkey's 3rd LP in a charity for £1? Why not! Love the 1st LP - not so sure about any of the others thus far though.

Mothers Freaks Out was an obvious gap in on my shelves - Nige pointed out that this is the early 70's UK 2xLP version rather than the orig 1LP versh - were the tracks edited for the 1LP version then?

Go cry on somebody else's shoulder
How could i be such a fool
    Any way the wind blows

    Missing from 1st LP
    Making a 25 (ish) minute side 1

Side 2 is just compressed it takes up 27 mins so no big deal.
    Hope that helps

A german television show (trödeltrupp) designed to help families in less fortunate situations dropped of a box of nice Kraut at the recordshop. I got:
Neu/ st on green Brain nice to have this finally
    Message/ st on Decca
Can-Landed on HörZu probably my favourite of the late Can releases.
Embryo- Globetrotter on Brain has gone to a good home by now.

    also from the chickenfarm bootsale:
    Czerworne Czarni- Msza Beatowa (spaaaaare)
Helmut Nadolski-Meditation free jazz with Niemen on synths not sure if I really need this
Kenny Bird Volume 4 on altaxon. Two good tracks. A bit too happy for my ears but still better than I expected.
    and finally
    Kati Kovaczs- Sehnsucht 45
I have been looking for a cheap copy for a year now.

a bikeride in Kassel got me these from the Eurobins:

Chubb Rock feat. Hitman Howie Tee

    Dana Dane-st
German Top Five - the one with "Champ" on it
Amanita Group Sol Y Sombra rather boring sambajazz (spare)
    Q-Q on x-records Disco oddity w/Peter Hauke/Tony Carey production

    also from Boxi:
Kai Rautenberg ‎– Electronic Sounds - Organ Sounds on Conroy

Agnes, which UK comedy lp do you consider to have the most lavishly expensive cover artwork?

Very few of them appear to invest in talented graphic designers or top photographers such as the one that Jimmy Nail hired when he evidently believed he was sexy.
