Default HF&S Thurs March 03: Big Daddy Moochin' live

Hot, Funky & Sweaty Salmon & Compass, cnr of Penton St & Chapel mkt, Angel London N1 9PZ. 8pm-2am. £3ish.
Thursday March 03: Big Daddy Moochin'

HF&S returns for 2005 with a welcome return for Big Daddy Moochin’. These guys are the nearest thing in the UK to LA's Breakestra, cramming in about 30 songs into just over an hour! They went down a storm last time, as they're sure to again. Look out for Moochin's awesome cover of Marie Lyon's "See And Don't See" on the HF&S album that's out in May!

Oh yeah, one side is a version of Crosstown Traffic by The Neapolitans, featuring the vocal talents of 60s vocal harmony group, The Essentials - it's a pretty mad version in the 'interesting, out there' style funk 45 vien. The other track is a very uptempo cover of Hot, Funky & Sweaty by The Organites - in the sort of classic deep funk stormer style. Should be out in April, tests come back next week.

    Glad you like it!

It's the new look, courtesy of Callum's considerable design skills. But I don't know how to get the two blues to match, dammit!

Now what's all this about these constant B-Music nights clashing all the time? Is it a monthly thing?

The flyer's looking good Nick (noice work Cal!). And I suspect that you've chosen the one Thursday of the month to present the live nights as B-Music (first Thursday of the month). Have you fixed that in stone yet? (Why oh why did I move out of London ).

*edit* I've just noticed the logo on the drumskin.

It's been live on the first Thursday of the month for the last two years, Rich! It's normally twice a month, but first floor bar building costs have put a temporary cap on my budget.

Nah, I'm not complaining - only from the point of view that I don't get to go to B-Music myself!

That's what threw me - I just thought you might have taken the opportunity to stagger the nights after the build. And you're not the only one who's torn, Nick - whatabout us punters? (It's hard enough for me to get into town that often but...).

Can't do that, Guv'nor! First Thursdays are always live nights AND third Thursdays too (once I get my budget back after the buliding work/nearer the the LP launch). Second and fourths don't have the same ring or appeal, for paycheck reasons etc.
