finally found a Band Of The Irish Guards - Marching With the Beatles on Studio 2. Had been keeping an eye out since hearing "Michelle" on "Breakthrough" (I think?) in the mid 90s. The arrangements are great!

yeah, "Things We Said Today" is fantastic, but the whole LP is really good, not a weak track. The couple of youtube videos (one with incredibly poor sound) don't do it justice

(oh and side 2 is just the music without Lionel's "stretch-two-three-four" stuff)

Sometimes I just cant get over some of these records. I know some of you have quirky collecting habits, but I am flabbergasted as to where, how and why you find some of these gems sometimes.

Anyway, the 50p section in my local collectors shop (which is full of various bits and pieces) turned up some ray coniff and a sweet sounds of tijuana brass LP which I OBVIOUSLY purchased (because one day im gonna find a tijuana brass LP with some ill dope breakz on it) but I also found this James Last a gogo. I was a bit apprehensive at first but anything from the 60's that says a gogo on the cover must be a rockin' good mod groover LP......WRONG.. Ah well, at least it was only 50p.

this is the January 2016 thread btw...

probably some Tijuana tips on the forum from the old days...
the Torero Band LPs on MfP - Tijuana Christmas, Tamla Meets Tijuana and Lennon & McCartney Tijuana Style - are genuinely pretty enjoyable albums despite the naff covers.

also can't think of any proper breaks, but you must know the Brazilia 70 LP ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pg9g74Syx2g - has three different sleeves and titles
                "Coffee Shake" on this: https://www.discogs.com/Chico-Rodrig...elease/6246665
Gary McFarland & Clark Terry - Tijuana Jazz: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfQREMfqae4
The Lazy Latins on Morgan: https://www.discogs.com/The-Lazy-Lat...elease/2797784

from memory Sweet Sound of Tijuana isn't too bad, but never gets funky. There's a better version of Guantanamera on a Big Jim H album on the same label: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLv_DvAgA10 - gets going around 1:50, (also on a Duke Grant album with a blue cover)

Aerobic Records can be pretty good. We should probbly do a thread here sometime. I can recommend this one:
