My copy of this turned up today. Anyone predisposed to BC's noise will appreciate it. Marvellous title track. http://damagedgoods.co.uk/discograph...f-another-time

Also, heard a track from the forthcoming Mugstar album "Magnetic sessions" on the radio last night. Don't know anything about them, except I like this Motorik flavoured tune.
Everyone tear down your own little wall
That keeps you from being a part of it all
Because you've got to be one with the one and all
You've just got to be close to it all

Followed up your link Cacapo, and found myself in the wonderful, wibbly, world of Gelbart. New to me.
Ended up bagging the fantastic World War 1 Hamster Diorama 45. Just mad! Once again, thanks for the heads up.

New Laike record out. I'm sure it will appeal to some board members. Lot's of flute and acoustic guitars but just check this list of instruments and you'll get the idea: Flute, zither, wurlitzer, tambourines, gong, mellotron, vibraphone, violin, shakers... There, you already know what it's going to sound like and if it's worth your while following this bandcamp link

'Cardiacs - Seaside' album has been released in none box-set edition which sold out in seconds. Its pricey once you add postage but at least you know the money is going towards helping someone who needs long term care:

Remastered from the original tapes with all 13 original tracks restored and committed to heavy double vinyl. Lovingly recreated artwork with unseen photography in gatefold format. Download voucher includes three alternate version of 'Gena Lolla Brigida', 'Hope Day' and 'Jibber and Twitch' from the 1995 reissue. Amazing

Originally released on cassette only then remastered onto CD in the 90's which I have digital version of it and it sounds great looks like its been remastered again and features new artwork in a gatefold sleeve.

It originally accompanied a video EP called 'Seaside Treats' which ran to twenty odd minutes of madness but this is my favorite song on the album alongside 'RES', the whole thing was filmed in an disused/underused theater in a day. All on youtube albeit a bit fuzzy.

Some of these songs were re-recorded for the 'A Little Man and...' follow up but they sound raw and dare I say it better on this album, certainly 'RES' and this one are my favorite versions. Tim is a true British one off and with the addition of 'William D Drake' on keyboards who is a superb musician was finally able to make strides into making the music in his head come off. Just the intro to this off 'Seaside Treats' blows my head off, think they hired a local small orchestra to record it what he'd written:

Extended versions along the lines of the first 30 seconds were used at the start of Cardiacs concerts. Normally accompanied by confetti and other detritus being blown at gale force across the stage. Very theatrical, magical Marmite band. Bound not to be everyones cup of tea. Personally, I was bathing in this stuff at the time.
I've got most of the Cardiacs stuff I need, but I will be buying this, purely out of support for a man who provided many many hours of unbridled joy for me and my friends over quite a few years, and who now is reliant on his recorded legacy to maintain as dignified a life as he can. Gawd bless ya Tim. If ever a star burned brightly........

The Hanging Stars - Over The Silvery Lake.
Gorgeous newie from Dom at GPS. Byrdsian guitars, huge-sky pedal steel, great harmonies....this is what I had in my head when people used to talk about cosmic country music in relation to Gram Parsons. Sparkly production keeps the music elevated high up above my turntable. Yep! I'm liking this alright. Mine came today, a beautiful translucent, tourquoisey /blue slab of goodness, like a forgotten Spangles flavour.

Just a quick reminder-because it was mooted last november- the Cavern of Anti Matter triple LP has finally surfaced. Beautiful lead-off track which you can find here and in general more in the Stereolab vein than their other outings which is exactly what I'm after.

Good on you Paul, I'm gonna be taking the plunge at some point, worth noting too they get money from any iTunes sales as well. Other than that their website is the only place to buy their albums and merch to get the money into the right hands. All their albums are going to be re-released at some point. Cant wait for a new vinyl of 'On Land and in the Sea' on 180g

Yaaaaayyyy!!!!....Postie brought mine today, so that's this evenings listening sorted! That 'Liquid Gate' track with Bradford Cox has been on a youtube loop here the past week or so...I'm hoping for something a little different from S*******b, so I hope they haven't entirely abandoned the sound they had on 'Blood Drums', and that the latter (which I missed) comes down from the £149 I saw one selling for recently....
you can hear colours when they rhyme...
