World Record Club did some great redesigned sleeves - I think it was probably a condition of the reissue process - but that isn't one of them! It's was probably better in idea than execution.

There was a separate WRC thread I think, some amazingly artistic sleeves, especially the Australian ones

I see such things on and off. And occasionally have to remind myself that I don't buy records just for the sleeves.

Great original illustration on the "Mexican Green". But I was looking at it wondering where the green was. And then it occurred to me that just having a old (but good) picture of mexico might itself have been a bit lazy.

All Little Wing reissues had new artwork and not all were bad, necessarily, but this one always struck me as particularly shoddy.

I seem to remember Jonny Trunk mentioning that the costs of using the original artwork can be prohibitive. He did a good job on the Bedazzled soundtrack re-issue.

Being a Morricone fan, I'd have to buy it, then paint it white ... that is very scary ...

The redesigns for World Record Club were a marketing decision—they sold via catalogue and so the sleeves had to work both as icons/thumbnails and as part of a club. That's why they all look bold and distinctive but in quite a uniform way.

I don't mind when reissues use the same design but with a tweak to show it's a reissue. That's quite a large change, but didn't look too bad when I saw one in the flesh, maybe slightly gold colour?

Funny one to reissue, 4 tracks - 1 is great, 1 is ok, and 2 are dull standards IIRC

Yeah, not much wrong with that, it differentiates from the OG and still works. Really, they should have put a pic of some walking camel legs with some exotic Zapf Chancery over it, they're letting the reissue market's side down innit. Disappointing.

I just dont see the point of just changing the colour , like this one albeit theyve fiddled with the numbers as well ?

I think the photograph cover is beautiful. I actually prefer that.

I'm guessing that someone at Baden Powell's Japanese record company took a deep personal dislike to him, perhaps after finding Baden in a menage a trois with his/her daughters ... I can't think of another reason why you would try to end someone's career with a jacket like number 2 here:

I bet he never recovered from this one ...
