they got rid of them by the late 80s I think, bit of a silly idea because it works ok for width, but pushes in the toes on length, not being the most sensitive equipment.

occasional X-rays aren't a problem to health, like once a year for shoes would be, the reason they worry about them in hospitals and have protective gear etc, is for the people working there who are exposed repeatedly to them.

I knew they did but if I've ever brought it up over the years people look at me like I'm mad. I suppose it comes down to whether or not your parents insisted on buying you Clark's horrible (at the time, at least to my perception.) Indestructible shoes!

Clarks shoes were brilliant. My Wayfinders had animal footprints on the sole so that I could easily identify the spoor of badgers, otters etc. Although it was mostly sheep , to be honest.



Clarks are also the reggae footwear of choice, although it's the Cornish-pasty-like Wayfarers that are most favoured, I believe.
