Paid. Thanks for putting the efforts to update things and hopefully avoid the vBulletin shenanigans hitting VG+.

Alan- Might be good to make this a sticky thread? I fear that, as it slips down the page, peeps may not appreciate the urgency on this one..

This weekend, I'll update this thread.

We have a great pot of money. It's going to be tremendous.

We know exactly what we want to do, it's just about fixing the logistics and making the time to make it happen.

Thank you all for the PMs, the funds and the ideas/ thoughts.

    Update to follow.

    Thanks for your patience x

Yes. We're workng on it. We've got the funds we need, we just need to get three busy people together to sort, which is proving tricky across multiple time zones Aiming to fix this weekend.

    Thanks for your ongoing patience.

Right then. You lot are brilliant, thanks for the contributions so far. Update:

    1. We know what we want to do (migrate the board to current cloud version of vbulletin, which will fix the security and stability issue). It will also future proof the board as upgrades to security/ versioning will happen automatically).

    2. we have the funds in place to do it.

    3. We have finally all arrived in the same time zone and will sort the financials this week, with a view to doing the tech side of it (hopefully) this weekend...

    Will keep you posted here.

Thanks for patience and ongoing support. Lots of other boards have fallen by the wayside, it's been really heartening to see the VG+ community rally to the cause.

You've asked a bunch of questions re functionality, which we'll try and address as we go. But bear with us: getting the plumbing sorted is priority and choosing the wallpaper/ record shelving will come after that....

    Thanks for the update alanmck!
If there's any chance of us being able to move to https soon, that would be a very good idea as it would encrypt our music, and enable us to put double the amount of records on our shelves.
SSL/TLS certs for https can now be obtained free of charge via https://letsencrypt.org

    @turboellis:

all the vBulletin cloud sites have been using SSL for a year by default - https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/foru...itching-to-ssl

So when we do the migration, it will kill two birds with one stone.
